It’s our final weekend of Ocean Toybox! You only have until August 31st to step into our summer adventure, help us find missing toys around the aquarium and make some new friends 🧑‍🚀🚀

Don’t get caught in the rain and dive into the aquarium where the only chance you may get wet is in our Splash Zone at Seal Cove! 🌊

Our Cowboy and Astronaut duo will be here every day at 11:20 and 14:20 for photo opportunities in our Meet and Greet Zone, located next to reception 📸

Meet Kraken, our newest temporary resident to Tynemouth Seal Hospital 🦭 Rescued by BDMLR in Redcar after being harassed by people and dogs, he was taken to the North East Seal Triage centre overnight before coming to us for rehabilitation 🏥

At 13.73kg he is underweight but feisty, and will happily try to bite at the ankles of our volunteers when they are looking after him! 🫢 This is a great reminder that seals are wild animals with incredibly sharp teeth, and you shouid stay well away if you see one in the wild (even though we know they look soooo cute)

With plenty of fish provided by us, he should gain lots of weight to get him beach body ready to be released back into the wild 🌊 A reminder that each visit to Tynemouth Aquarium helps support seal rehabilitation by providing essential support and food. You can also make a donation when visiting, or visit Tynemouth Seal Hospital’s wishlist to send supplies they need 💙
