Our Story
Originally starting as a member of my school Stage Crew in 2004, I work freelance around Kent as a technician and crew with CrewCo. under the name of Titch Tech. I also work as zero hours crew at The Marlowe Theatre, Canterbury, The Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone and The Royal Albert Hall, London.
Being both FOH and a technician makes me feel a bit like a superhero - front of house by day ... and night ... Technician ... whenever I can fit it in ... *shrugs*
When doing tech work, I mainly work as an LX doing both operation and design but am also experienced in event work, sound design and operation, pyrotechnics, stage management and set construction. My favourite desk to use is the ETC Element though I can use the ION, Congo and Smartfade as well, then for sound the LS9.
Before becoming a freelance technician, I used to do production photography during my final year of university. You’ll see on this page a lot of old albums from when I went by the name Melodrama Photography (because my friends were very original with my name being Mel and being a drama student). Because of that, I now do my own production photography so I can document my designs for lighting and set.
