Jules Praed - Cornish artist, specialising in equine paintings.
All of my paintings are original works of art, painted in oil, on to board. Each painting is mounted in it’s own unique hand painted frame. The paintings range in size from 130 cm by 100 cm to smaller pieces of 50 cm by 39 cm including the frame
The aim of my work is to capture the power and strength of the horse and to encapsulate the passage of forward and past motion through the use of abstraction. The use of light and dark is used to enhance an anatomical focus, highlighting the complexities of shapes within the equine form .
Although horses have always been my greatest passion in life (or my complete obsession), I have only embarked upon my struggle to capture them on canvas since 2011. It has taken 3 arduous years to capture my own personal style and I hope that my catalogue reflects the way in which my work has finally developed.
