Popp Theatre

Popp Theatre Based in the Pydar Pop up, St Clements Street, Truro TR11DT. We will create a stage in the round, surrounded by individual pods for audience members.

Our aim is to create a theatre for the future by providing a safe performance space for theatre, comedy, dance and music that gives a protected environment for both audience and performers. Popp Theatre has come about as a direct result of the Covid 19 pandemic and will based in Truro, Cornwall. Each pod will be able to accommodate a maximum of 4 people from the same household or safety bubble in

accordance with Covid-19 restrictions and Public Health England Government guidance. Each pod will be fully accessible for wheelchair users. We will then pilot a 6-week program enabling audiences and performers to feel more confident about enjoying live entertainment again. One of the beautiful things about going to see a live event is the community, the shared experience, we hope that this theatre will give that sense of a shared experience but at the same time making you feel completely safe.

We were not disappointed with our final act last night. The People's String Foundation were amazing and created some music to dance to in our pods. That ends our two week run, and it’s been fantastic. More posts to come about what we have been up to and future plans. But in the mean time it’s a well deserved beer and to bed early.
