MEET THE MAKER - The Forest & Flow Candle Co.

One of the things I love most about filling our shelves with products from local makers is discovering the stories behind them. And this one is especially lovely! 🥹❤️Today I'd love to introduce you to The Forest & Flow Candle Co., a small, family-run home fragrance business based here in Wiltshire.

Their story began just last year, in their family kitchen. What started as a little creative project has grown into a beautiful collection of hand-poured candles, reed diffusers and room sprays, all made with care to bring a little warmth and comfort into your home.

But my favourite part is the story behind the name. Forest & Flow was inspired by their children, Willow and River. A lovely reminder that behind so many small businesses are families, dreams and people working hard to create something special.

Alongside building the business, its founder is also training to become a Teaching Assistant, with the hope that one day The Forest & Flow will grow into a full-time family business. And if you've visited Will Do Studio recently, you'll know how much I've fallen in love with their fragrances! 😂

You can now discover their beautiful candles, diffusers and room sprays right here in our Trowbridge shop. This is exactly why supporting local makers means so much to me.

I can already feel Christmas shopping season getting closer… The search for the perfect gifts for your favourite people is slowly beginning, and I'm so excited that this year I'll be able to help you find (or create!) something really special. 🥹

But before the Christmas madness begins, I'm taking a little break! Our shop will be closed from 12-19 October, and we'll be back on 20 October with new opening hours, including more morning shopping time!

If you've visited our shop, there's a good chance you've already spotted Helen's work - it's rather difficult not to smile when you see it! 😍

Helen is the illustrator and designer behind Doodlicious , a colourful and wonderfully quirky project celebrating the places, buildings and little details that make our local towns special.

She creates her illustrations digitally, taking inspiration from familiar streets, local landmarks and old buildings, then adding her own fun Doodlicious twist. ❤️

What started as a creative project has now grown into a large collection of local artwork, with Trowbridge and Wiltshire right at its heart.

And that's exactly why I love having Helen's work at Will Do Studio. We both believe there's something really special about celebrating where we live and creating things that make people feel proud of their local area.

A new week means new opportunities to make someone smile with a little gift. Because sometimes a gift says much more than Happy Birthday.

It can say welcome to the family, thank you, take some time for yourself, I believe in what you're doing, this will always be home, or simply I'm always close.

Sometimes it's a scent that makes an ordinary evening feel better, a little light that brings some warmth, or something beautiful chosen for no particular reason other than “I saw this and thought of you.”

That's why, whatever the occasion, I want Will Do Studio to be somewhere you can walk into and find something that feels right for that person.

MEET THE MAKER! One of the things I love most about Will Do Studio is that our shelves are slowly becoming a collection of stories, ideas and things created by people from our local community.

Today I'd love you to meet Val Freegard from Keevil.
Val works as a support worker with adults with learning disabilities and autism - a job that can be incredibly busy and demanding. On her days off, you'll usually find her tucked away in her dining room, crafting.

For Val, making things is a hobby, a way to relax, switch off and simply enjoy being creative. And now some of the things she creates have found a little home on our shelves too. 🥹

At Will Do Studio, you can find Val's beautiful decoupage lanterns and decorative decoupage shells - each one handmade locally and completely different from something you'd find on a mass-produced shelf.

And that's exactly what I want WDS to be about. By shopping with us, you're not only supporting Will Do Studio - you're helping us support more talented people from our local area too.
