From Rural Studio to the World

When I first started making sculpture, I never imagined that one day clients would travel from around the world to commission work from our studio.

At the time I was simply focused on making the best sculpture I could.

One piece at a time.

One commission at a time.

One lesson at a time.

Over the years, those commissions grew.

Private collectors became repeat collectors.

Landscape projects became larger public commissions.

Bronze studies evolved into significant sculptures for estates, commercial developments and public spaces.

What has never changed is the philosophy behind the work.

Create sculpture with integrity.

Build it properly.

Use materials that will endure.

And create something that people will still admire decades from now.

Today, our sculptures can be found in private collections, gardens, hospitality settings and public spaces far beyond the UK.

Yet every piece still begins in the same way.

A sketch.

A conversation.

A workshop in the British countryside.

For me, that's one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey.

No matter how far the work travels, its origins remain exactly the same.

British craftsmanship.

Traditional skills.

A lifelong obsession with creating sculpture that matters.

We Build Everything Ourselves... One thing surprises visitors more than anything else when they arrive at our studio.

The scale of what happens here.

Many assume contemporary sculptors simply design artworks before sending them elsewhere for production.

In reality, our studio operates very differently.

Every sculpture is developed, fabricated and refined by our team.

The large steel sculptures.

The bronze originals.

The engineering.

The fabrication.

The countless hours of problem solving that turn an idea into a permanent work of art.

Over the last decade we have invested heavily in creating a workshop capable of delivering ambitious projects in-house.

Clients travel from across the UK, Europe, America and the Middle East to visit us, and many are genuinely surprised by the machinery, equipment and traditional craftsmanship involved.

There is something reassuring about commissioning a sculpture directly from the people who will physically create it.

No production line.

No imported components.

No disconnect between artist and maker.

Just a British sculpture studio, surrounded by countryside, creating works that will hopefully still be standing long after all of us are gone.

In a world increasingly driven by convenience, we remain committed to craftsmanship.

Not because it's easy.

Because it's worth it.

The Long Way Round - People often ask how I became a sculptor. The truth is, I don't think I ever decided to become one.

I simply followed a path that had been in front of me all along.

My earliest memories are standing in my uncle's forge as a young boy, fascinated by the heat, the noise, the smell of steel and coal. He was a traditional blacksmith and from the age of around eleven, I spent countless hours watching metal being shaped by hand.

My brother went on to become a farrier.

Metal has always been part of our family's story.

What I didn't realise at the time was that those early experiences were quietly shaping my future.

Over the next thirty years I explored different directions, built businesses, learnt new skills, made mistakes, took risks and discovered what kind of work truly mattered to me.

Looking back now, it feels less like a planned career and more like a gradual return to where I was always supposed to be.

Today I have the privilege of creating sculptures for collectors, estates, architects and developers around the world, with my own studio and team around me.

From private bronze commissions to monumental steel sculptures, every project still begins with the same fascination I had as a child watching hot metal move beneath a hammer.

The scale may have changed.

The passion hasn't.

What started in a blacksmith's forge has become an international sculpture studio.

And in many ways, I still feel like that eleven-year-old boy learning how metal can be transformed into something extraordinary.

Chartwell Commission - Sir Winston Churchill Equestrian Sculpture at Chartwell House Chartwell NT

We were honoured to be commissioned by the Chartwell to create a 3/4 life-size racehorse sculpture for Chartwell, the family home of Sir Winston Churchill.

Created as a tribute to Colonist II, the sculpture was shaped entirely by eye in steel and finished in a refined zinc patina, selected to age with quiet dignity. Rather than a formal memorial, the work was conceived as a calm, natural presence—rooted in place, history, and restraint.

Although our work now travels internationally, creating sculpture for Chartwell held particular meaning for us, reconnecting contemporary craftsmanship with British heritage. Seeing the piece experienced by thousands of visitors over the Christmas period was quietly rewarding, offering a more personal connection to Churchill’s life beyond politics.

A version of this sculpture is now available for acquisition by a private collector. Further details via the link.
