WOW! We had the most inspiring creative weekend with some incredible people at our 'Accessible Writers Room Scripting Workshops for Audio Drama'. A huge thank you to all the participants, Marilyn Le Conte and Richard Elfyn for being part of our creative team, our incredible BSL interpreter, Rachel Williams and the Cyngor Celfyddydau Cymru | Arts Council of Wales and the Wales Council for Deaf People for funding and facilitating this R&D project. We are so grateful and so excited for the next step!! We also want to thank Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund CIC for believing in the project and funding the initial stages. Without you these workshops would never have happened Our Space Ein Lle Ni

ScreenTales

Casting for Ambisonic Audio Drama – R&D – We encourage voice actors with sensory loss, but open to all! - Recording dates TBC, the week commencing May 20th 2024

Location – Rhondda Cynon Taff (exact venue TBC).

Fee: £200 per day

Deadline for getting voice-reels to us is Wednesday May 8th 10pm - please email to [email protected] or WhatsApp 07939030675

Role 1 - King Carbón
Gender: Any
Brief: Playing age 25-70 must be able to sing. A fabulous performer, excellent diction, glorious singing voice - the undisputed star of the show! (Think – Billy Porter/Shirley Bassey/Idina Menzel/Freddie Mercury). King Carbón is crippled with anxiety and self-doubt before every performance – they are VERY high maintenance but once on the stage there is no stopping them! Every ounce of their performance is over the top! NB this is a character acting role, but King Carbón also has a big song.

Please send a voice-reel with a snippet of your King Carbón singing their show stopping rendition of a popular song of your choice. A-Capella is fine. And, a voice-reel with a short monologue.

Role 2 - Gwen Fairfield
Gender: Female
Brief: Playing age 30–50. Must be able to do an English accent. Gwen is a foster carer and nature lover, a warm passionate woman with a quirky sense of humour.

Please send a voice-reel with a short monologue

Role 3 - Enigma
Gender: Any
Brief: Playing age 18–30. Assertive, but kind. Enigma has a vast amount of knowledge about most things, but very little ‘real life’ experience. Everything they know they have learned from books. Once confronted with the reality of the outside world they face a steep learning curve, but they are determined to succeed.

Please send a voice-reel with a short monologue

Role 4 - Assistant to the Assistant General Secretary – Moonlights as a Clinical Psychologist
Gender: Female
Brief: Playing age 30-70, Welsh accent, self-important, serious and can be quite grand when the occasion calls for it (which, in her opinion, it often does).

Please send a voice-reel with a short monologue

Role 5 - The Archivist
Gender: Male
Brief: Playing age 40–60, he is an unassuming gent, softly spoken, but those who take the time to listen to him will notice that every word is carefully chosen. He is the kind of person who would blend into the background – people ignore him and take no notice of him - but he is watching everything and knows exactly what is going on at all times.

Please send a voice-reel with a short monologue
