Tranent & District Pipe Band Tranent & District Pipe Band is a locally formed pipe band that regularly plays at community, competition and charitable events.

Tranent and District Pipe Band is based in East Lothian, Scotland. The band regularly performs at events and competitions throughout the year. The focus of the Band is to promote the arts of piping and drumming within the East Lothian area, although band members come from Edinburgh, Midlothian and East Central Scotland, as well as East Lothian. The Band is always keen to attract new members, of all abilities, and can be contacted at: [email protected] for further information.

The committee has taken the pragmatic view that despite several years of `flogging a dead horse’ we now concede that our only course of action is to disband Tranent & District Pipe Band.
The band will undertake it’s last engagement this August at the Elphinstone gala day and shortly thereafter the band will we be dissolved…. 🥲 Lang May Yer Lum Reek! 😉
