“Visually ravishing … Portrait of a Lady on Fire is impossible to resist as a purely cinematic experience.” -
Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a breathtaking meditation on love, desire, memory, and the unbearable beauty of fleeting moments. Céline Sciamma crafts every frame like a painting, every glance like a confession, every silence like a poem. Marianne and Héloïse’s connection unfolds with such intensity and tenderness that it feels almost sacred.

What makes this film unforgettable is not only its romance, but the way it captures the act of truly seeing another person—and being seen in return. It burns slowly, quietly, and then all at once.

Years after watching it, I still think about the stolen looks, the crackling tension, the sound of Vivaldi, and that final scene that says more about love than pages of dialogue ever could.

A masterpiece of female gaze, longing, and artistic devotion. Cinema at its most intimate and transcendent.

Step onto the dancefloor and discover the enduring legacy of Northern Soul. Emerging from the working-class communities of Northern England and the Midlands in the late 1960s and 70s, this vibrant underground movement united young people through rare American soul records, electrifying all-nighters, and a passion for dance.

Northern Soul: Still Burning traces the evolution of the scene from its roots at legendary venues such as Wigan Casino to its continued influence today. Through rare restored archive footage and interviews with key DJs, dancers, musicians, historians, and cultural figures, the film explores the music, fashion, politics, and community that have kept Northern Soul alive for generations—and how a new wave of soulies continues to carry its spirit forward.

A celebration of one of Britain’s most enduring and influential musical subcultures, Northern Soul remains as vital, dynamic, and inspiring today as ever.

A chicken’s-eye view of the world—and one of the most original films you’ll see this year.

In Hen, acclaimed Hungarian filmmaker György Pálfi transforms an unlikely premise into a funny, moving, and profoundly humane work of cinema. Following a hen who escapes an industrial farm in search of a safe place to raise her chicks, the film gradually reveals a far larger story unfolding around her: one of survival, migration, exploitation, and the fragile bonds that connect all living beings.

Told almost entirely from the perspective of its avian protagonist, Hen invites us to see the human world anew—its cruelties, absurdities, and moments of unexpected compassion. What begins as a deceptively simple animal odyssey becomes a richly layered fable about freedom, motherhood, and the struggle to find a place in an increasingly unforgiving world.

By turns heartbreaking, suspenseful, and darkly comic, Pálfi’s latest film is a bold feat of imagination that recalls the great animal-centred masterpieces of recent cinema while remaining entirely its own. There has never been quite a film like Hen.

A remarkable and unforgettable journey from one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive voices.

An electrifying journey into the heart of the rave revolution. In the late 80s, against a backdrop of social oppression, a generation found its voice in abandoned factories and secret fields. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a quietly devastating story about love, memory, and the act of seeing.

On a remote island, a painter is commissioned to secretly paint a young woman who refuses to pose. What follows is not just observation, but connection—built in silence, glances, and shared time.

Directed by Céline Sciamma, the film redefines the gaze: here, women are not seen as objects, but as people who see each other. Every frame feels like a memory being formed in real time.

It’s restrained, intimate, and achingly beautiful—proof that some love stories don’t need to be loud to be unforgettable.
