We’re opening our doors!

Do you have a love affair with this beautiful ancient repertoire, its' crunchy harmonies, irregular rhythms and timeless heartbeat… and a desire to co-create something extraordinary?

We have a couple of spaces left and are looking for confident and enthusiastic singers who are ready to join us this Autumn.

Back in the spring we did a little thing...
It was the first time as a choir we set ourselves the challenge of learning a set of songs off by heart, and TO CAMERA - what a feat that was for 40 something people - many of whom had not uttered a single word in the Bulgarian language before the term started. So proud of this wonderful group!

TOMORROW! Come sing with us, hear what we've been learning this past term and celebrate our 2nd Birthday!

With our special guests the Pendari dance group and The Bulgarian Society of Devon. We are so proud to be part of such a wonderful cultural community in humble Devon!

Totnes Bulgarian Folk Choir is celebrating its 2nd Birthday this coming Saturday at Dartington Village Hall (11.30-4:30pm).

Come join us for workshops, dance, performances and a shared pot luck lunch (bring a dish to share and your finest folk attire - we love our red, white and green!).

We will kick off a three part singing workshop led by Mae Karthauser, followed by choir and dance performances (special guests are Pendari dance and our friends in The Bulgarian Society of Devon), then lunch and an open stage. Tickets only £10 adults / £5 kids for the whole day (free for Bulgarian Society Members).

Totnes Bulgarian Choir is approaching its Second Birthday and we are celebrating with a community day: come and join us for workshops, singing and dance performances and a shared pot luck lunch at Dartington Village Hall. Our guests are the “Pendari” dance group: Exeter based Bulgarian folk dancers who will be joining us with their traditional dances, beautiful costumes and joyful smiles.
We will also have an open stage: a chance to share something of your own with our beautiful and supportive community.
Parking is limited in village hall carpark, more available at nearby Cider Press Centre, Meadowbrook, and in Dartington village, etc

Have you got your tickets for this exciting Bulgarian community event this Saturday at Totnes leisure centre..?

Come at 12pm for a singing workshop with the brilliant Megi Angelova, a short song sharing by the Totnes Bulgarian Folk Choir, a lively performance by the Dragostina balkan band and also and most excitingly traditional dances by the Dance Club ‘Pendari’, Exeter / Танцов Клуб “Пендари”, гр. Екситър from Exeter.

It should be sunny … there will be children running around and the doors will be open to spill outdoors … bring food to share and your most colourful Bulgarian colours! Come along!

Oh my! It's been a magical few months for our blossoming community. Being welcomed and joining forces with Dance Club 'Pendari' and the Bulgarian Society of Devon back in February has created a momentum and excitement between us that is difficult to express!

Come join us for the summer term … rounded up with an immersive day long Bulgarian celebration in July.
With limited space and a high subscription we are not currently hosting taster sessions: we invite our new singers to simply jump in with us for the 10 week term.

There’s a lot of laughter and play in our rehearsals, and yet we also strive to make something really extraordinary together. Each term we raise our level … and the fun ✨
