Totnes Fringe Festival

Totnes Fringe Festival Yep, the whole thing is 100% volunteer-powered—there are no big salaries, just local people bringing bold ideas to life for the love of it.

Curated Professional Theatre, Dance, Comedy and Spoken Word

Artists from across the UK and beyond.
9th - 12th July 2026

BUY TICKETS https://www.tickettailor.com/events/totnesfringefestival The festival is being organised by a group of local theatre artists and creatives who want to fill the gap left by the lack of regular theatre in Totnes — and we’re doing it all as volunteers. We’re a welcomin

g bunch, so if you’d like to work with us in any capacity — producing, planning, plotting, or something we haven’t even thought of yet — please get in touch. At a later stage, we’ll be putting out a call for volunteer ushers and event helpers. If that sounds like your vibe, keep an eye out. Together, we’ll make something brilliant.

Felled
We’re back - Throw your rucksack over your shoulder, grab a beer, and get ready to dance with a deer. Journey for twelve days and nights to the Sequoia National Park armed with axes. We’re all in this together.

Rosie (National Youth Music Theatre) and Vic (Allotment Association). Mother and daughter perform a reworking of Felled, together dwarfed by giant trees, dragging hope uphill over rough terrain moment by moment. Dedicated to absent loved ones who did not survive all the threats.

🧡Why does Totnes Fringe matter?

For Geetie Singh-Watson of The Bull Inn, festivals are part of what nourishes a healthy, thriving community.

Across Europe, towns invest in culture because they understand its value. Festivals bring people together, spark conversations, support local businesses, create opportunities for artists and add something special to everyday life.

And if there’s one place where a Fringe Festival makes sense, it’s Totnes.

This is a town rich in art, craft, theatre, music and creativity. The Fringe doesn’t create that spirit – it celebrates it, connects it and helps it flourish.

We’re incredibly grateful to Geetie and The Bull for supporting Totnes Fringe as one of our Headline Sponsors and sharing our belief that culture nourishes our town, our communities and the connections between us.

🎸🌱 JACK & THE BEANSTALK... BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT.

Kid Carpet and the Noisy Animals have accidentally made a panto.

There’s a giant beanstalk. A Bear. A Gorilla. A Badger. A Hedgehog. Possibly some golden bum eggs. And absolutely no guarantee that anyone knows what’s going on.

Part gig. Part theatre. Part air guitar workshop. Part glorious chaos.

Packed with big beats, silly songs, dodgy celebrity lookalikes and enough noisy nonsense to keep kids (and grown-ups) grinning all the way home.

Perfect for all ages, families, party monsters, and fans of noisy nonsense.

🗓️ Saturday 11 July
🕛 12:00 Midday
📍 St Mary’s Church

Bring your kids. Bring yer nan. Bring snacks.

🎟️ Book now before the beanstalk gets completely out of hand.

💼 WORK 💼

This Saturday, July 11th at 7:00 PM, join us at The Dartmouth Inn for an experimental performance that asks: what parts of ourselves do we leave behind in order to stay employed?

Created from old CVs, application forms, interview jargon, and years of real-life work experience, WORK is a bold and thought-provoking exploration of employment, identity, and the strange rituals of modern working life.

Performed by Claudia Jefferies and Fynn Roberts, and accompanied by an original soundtrack of distorted field recordings and uncategorisable noise, this 45–50 minute piece blends humour, discomfort, and reflection in equal measure.
