Totnes Fringe Festival

Totnes Fringe Festival Yep, the whole thing is 100% volunteer-powered—there are no big salaries, just local people bringing bold ideas to life for the love of it.

Curated Professional Theatre, Dance, Comedy and Spoken Word

Artists from across the UK and beyond.
9th - 12th July 2026

BUY TICKETS https://www.tickettailor.com/events/totnesfringefestival The festival is being organised by a group of local theatre artists and creatives who want to fill the gap left by the lack of regular theatre in Totnes — and we’re doing it all as volunteers. We’re a welcomin

g bunch, so if you’d like to work with us in any capacity — producing, planning, plotting, or something we haven’t even thought of yet — please get in touch. At a later stage, we’ll be putting out a call for volunteer ushers and event helpers. If that sounds like your vibe, keep an eye out. Together, we’ll make something brilliant.

A few of the brilliant team who kept our Box Office running during the 2026 Totnes Fringe. 💛

And yes, the headgear was absolutely part of the job.

A big Fringe thank you to our sponsors Hadley Paper Goods, who supplied some very fetching head and eyewear for the occasion.

Two particular favourites — Chief Witch and Pain in the Arse — were beautifully modelled here by audience members on the Rotherfold Stage, which Hadley also sponsored.

Some crowns really do find their rightful owners. 😄

A huge thank you to the businesses and organisations who backed Totnes Fringe Festival this year.
Our headline sponsors Ben’s Farm Shop and The Bull Inn, alongside Eastgate Bookshop, Hadley Paper Goods, Block & Tackle Carpentry, Mole Energy Ltd , Precision Casting Ltd, Dartington Playgoers, Totnes Wines, ReRooted, Totnes Boating Association, Little Ant Insurance Services, Natural Body Sculpt, Mulberry education, Argand Solutions, Darnell’s, delphinis, Canteen, Totnes trust and others helped us make a pretty ambitious four days possible.
Sponsorship isn’t just a logo on a programme. It helps us deliver a festival that can:
bring 80+ performances to 17 venues across Totnes
keep ticket prices accessible while ensuring artists receive the lion’s share of ticket income
put on a free programme in streets, gardens, pubs and public spaces
print and distribute thousands of programmes across the town
support the infrastructure, equipment and people needed to welcome thousands of audience members
create opportunities for emerging artists and new work
make Totnes feel, for four days, like one big performance space.
For a young, volunteer-led festival, that backing matters enormously. It gives us the confidence to be ambitious, take a few risks and keep building something that brings artists, audiences, businesses and the wider town together.
So, from all of us at Totnes Fringe: thank you for believing in it and helping us make it happen.
And if you’re a local business wondering what being part of the Fringe might look like in 2027, we’d love to talk.

Have you bought your Shakers tickets yet? 13th, 14th, 15th August 🍸🍹✨️

After previews at Totnes Fringe Festival, this smash-hit performance from Dartington Playgoers returns to The Seven Stars. This fun, one-act play is the perfect evening out - navigate a weird and wonderful (or not so wonderful!) selection of customers through one night in the life of cocktail waitresses Nicky, Mel and Adele!

Just returned from a couple of days at Ventnor Fringe on the Isle of Wight.

Huge thanks to Jack Whitewood and the volunteers for their generosity, honesty, and openness. One of the best things about the Fringe community is how willing people are to help each other succeed.

2 Key takeaways:

• Growth doesn’t need to be fast. Steady, organic growth builds stronger foundations. Funding remains fundamental. Fringe festivals create huge cultural and economic value, even without major profit.

The biggest reassurance was realising many of our challenges are simply the natural challenges of growing a Fringe.

We came back with pages of notes, fresh ideas, and even more confidence in where Totnes Fringe is heading.

Thank you, Ventnor Fringe.

2026 Artist Interviews! 🧡
Kitty got to speak to some of our artists at the festival, to get an insight about their amazing shows!🙌

She spoke to Lisa Gornick who performed her incredible live art show which captivated audiences following her experience battling alcohol addiction.✍️

We also meet a few members of the Lazy Dart Band who performed live jazz in the Totnes Cinema. With there show being one of the first to be sold out we spoke to them about who their audience demographic is, and about their experience in their venue.🎷
