New English Riviera Beach Standards live as bathing season begins! 🏖️💦
The new English Riviera Beach Standards (ERBS) were introduced a few weeks ago and it’s now live across Torbay! 👌
New beach flags, signage and clearer on‑site information is now on display. These standards aim to ensure that residents and visitors can enjoy our stunning coastline with confidence and clarity.
Beach Categories: Our beaches are now categorised into three easy-to-understand groups:
🏝️Excellent:Top-notch facilities and consistently great water quality, perfect for swimming and family fun.
🏝️Quality: Positive visitor experiences with good water quality, showcasing local charm.
🏝️Natural: Quiet, undeveloped beaches that prioritize wildlife and tranquility.
🛑 Safety First: Look out for new beach flags, signage, and information boards that provide important safety advice and guidance tailored to each beach's unique character.
💧Water Quality Monitoring: All designated bathing waters are independently monitored by the Environment Agency, ensuring you have access to clear, reliable information about water quality.
