Home to TOADS Theatre Company. With a variety of shows all year round, we promise a great night! TOADS formed in 1944 as part of Torbay Operatic Society.

We took up residence in the Little Theatre in 1988. In 2002 TOADS performed their 100th production at the Little Theatre. It's important to us to make drama accessible to everyone. Right from the very start, we thought of an appreciation of drama and the cultural shaping of leisure activity as vital aspects of our project. Over time, we've gained many friends and partners who help us achieve this

objective. We're a friendly team who look forward to interest across the generations and cultures. So whatever your age or background, do drop in and meet us.

🔍 IT’S ‘SCRIPTS DOWN’ NIGHT. 📖

Look, Miss Marple would have some questions about this evidence too. But rehearsals are motoring on and our brilliant cast for THE MIRROR CRACK’D are (mostly) off book.

Murder has come to St Mary Mead, a movie star’s moved into the Manor House, and nobody’s mood is improving anytime soon. Can Jane Marple crack the case from her armchair, with Chief Inspector Craddock playing legs? You’ll have to come and find out.

🎭 AUDITION NOTICE: A CHRISTMAS CAROL🎄

Are you ready to think about Christmas!

Join us on Sunday 23rd August at 2pm for auditions for this festive classic, directed by Jon Manley.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or have always wanted to step onto The Little Theatre stage, we’d love to see you. There are roles for a wide range of ages, and plenty of opportunities to get involved both on and off stage.

✨ We’re also looking for prompt, props and backstage crew to help bring this magical production to life!

🎭 YES, PRIME MINISTER is back in Torquay — and today felt like the perfect day to remind you that it takes around 150 volunteers to pull off this production over two weeks: cast, crew, front of house, backstage, box office and beyond…

Meanwhile, over in Clacton, a rather larger operation is under way today to manage a by-election with a record-breaking 34 candidates on the ballot.

Two very different logistical efforts happening on the same day — and only one of them is political satire.

Don’t just take our word for it:

⭐ “It was brilliant. Really enjoyed and loads of laughs. Highly recommend”

⭐ “Well worth going to see. A local cast performing some iconic characters, with a witty plot line.”

We only hope that watching political chaos is far more fun than living through it as we thank our volunteers and think of those doing politics for real along the coast.

🌑 This evening the nation looks up for a solar eclipse — a rare moment when something in British public life actually goes dark on schedule, rather than through several u-turns and a hastily arranged press briefing. In the meantime, the audience verdicts on Yes, Prime Minister keep landing on our desk, much like memos nobody in Whitehall wants to sign:

⭐ “This is great British comedy at its satirical best. Well cast, brilliantly delivered and a good evenings entertainment. Book your tickets- you won’t be disappointed”
