This Pride Month at The Oast as we celebrate Dickens we are also considering the contributions of the many LGBTQIA playwrights, actors, directors and more to theatre as well as those in the community who have inspired them.

Did you know that the Jo Clifford's adaptation of Chalres Dicken's Great Expectations in 2012 distinguished her as the first openly trans playwright to have a play in the West End?

Professor Clifford has had an amazing career so far, writing adaptations of The Seagull and The Cherry Orchard as well as performing at the Edinburgh Fringe. There's far more to cover than we can fit in a single post of course, so why not have a read online to see what you find out!

Calling all actors! The Oast Theatre Tonbridge is holding auditions this July for
Educating Rita.

Two actors are needed for this play about education and choice portrayed in the chaotic splendour of a university lecturer's study.
