**ANNOUNCEMENT**

After much reflection and many conversations, it has been decided that Staplehurst Family Fireworks will no longer be continuing as a committee.
Having started up in 2017 by Danielle as a 'just see how it goes' kind of event, we didn't expect it to be as successful or grow on such a large scale. The support has been fantastic, but the hours of commitment for such a small team is no longer feasible with family and business commitments 😞 The venue was also in doubt this year due to planned building works, and with no suitable alternative for wet and boggy conditions it has helped us to make the difficult decision.

Our aim was always to put as much back into the community as possible, with this year being no exception. We would love to hear your ideas on where you would like to see our remaining funds donated....please send Danielle Grimwood a message with your suggestions

After much deliberation, we have had to accept that the fireworks cannot go ahead this year. It's not an easy decision to make, but this event takes a year of careful planning - which is something we haven't been able to do due to the uncertainty. The small venue would also mean numbers would need to be cut by half to allow for social distancing, making it unviable for vendors and ourselves with the huge outlays we incur.
Fingers crossed for a more positive 2022 🤞🤞

As with all events this year, ours was sadly cancelled to help stop the spread of covid19. As much as we love bringing the community together, its important to keep ourselves and loved ones safe.
As was expected, sales of private fireworks have increased significantly this year, and although we don't always agree with private displays (due to health & safety and nervous animals), we also don't want to take the fun away from people who have had little to celebrate this year.
If you must have a display at home, please plan ahead and ensure safety procedures are followed (there are many information packs online). We also ask that you inform your neighbours so that anyone with animals is able to prepare in advance - this was one of the key factors in forming the committee, as animal lovers we wanted to condense one (planned) event rather than random explosions continuing for up to a week.

November 5th looks a little different this year, let's be safe and think of others ❤️

Staplehurst Family Fireworks have had to make the difficult decision to cancel this year's event. Although bonfire night doesn't take place until November, we feel it would be irresponsible to encourage large crowds to congregate in such a close knit area with no option to social distance.
This isn't a decision we have taken lightly but it is the right thing to do.
What a strange year 2020 is turning out to be - rest assured we have every intention of returning for 2021 and look forward to the support from our wonderful community

Staplehurst Family Fireworks are committed to giving back to the community. Last year's event was once again a huge success (despite the challenging weather!) And we are delighted to have donated the proceeds of ticket sales to the following groups:

Jubilee Field management group
Scouts
The men's shed
The village centre
Year 6 school leavers

We also arranged and donated the multi coloured Christmas lights at the parade, which can be enjoyed year after year (with thanks to Jon at Kent and Sussex Tree care as we didn't fancy the climb ourselves!).
We will once again be in need of sponsors for this year's event, please get in touch if you can help 😊

We have a couple of new members on our committee, and together we are busy behind the scenes (once again!) planning and plotting. This years theme has already been decided, so it's all systems go once again 😊
We will soon be looking for this year's sponsors to help bring the wow factor on 7th November 💥💥🔥✨👩‍👧‍👦🌌🌠🍩🍰🧁🥂

Just a reminder that Kent & Sussex Tree care will be giving up their Sunday morning and chipping Christmas Trees tomorrow between 9-11am at the parade, to help raise money for Staplehurst Fireworks.

Sunday 5th January is Staplehurst
Christmas tree chipper day! 🎄🎄
Jon from Kent & Sussex Treecare has kindly offered to be at The Parade from 9AM with his machine to recycle your Christmas Trees and spread the bark chippings onto the large planted areas. The team will have some buckets for any small donations you may wish to give in support of Staplehurst Family Fireworks Group. 😊🎄🎄🎄
