We had a brilliant time yesterday — thank you so much to everyone who came along, especially with all the footballing distractions going on!
We were treated to the wonderful poetry of our guest reader Chad Campbell and the fantastic music of our guest musician Brian Toberman.

And, of course, our open micers brought another embarrassment of riches — as always!
Just a little reminder that July is our summer break, but we’ll be back on August 26th. In the meantime, keep reading, writing, and performing!

And don’t forget: a night of Gobsh!te means another episode of the Gobful is dropping tomorrow. Keep your ears peeled! 🎧

Hello!

We’re very pleased to announce our next Gobsh!te event, taking place next Wednesday at the Golden Lion.
Our guest reader for the evening is the brilliant poet Natalie Rees. More about her below:

Natalie Rees lives in Calderdale, where she has a private practice in Play & Creative Arts Therapy. She holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Manchester and writes poetry and creative non-fiction. She has published in magazines and competitions such as Penfro, Flambard, Poets & Players, Interpreter's House and Prole. Her debut pamphlet is published with Calder Valley Poetry, exploring themes such as identity, childhood, female desire and attachment patterns, frequently drawing on her own upbringing in a Pentecostal Christian family with Irish and German roots.
We’ll also be joined by returning guest musician Miss Airedale, who is absolutely not to be missed. Miss Airedale writes darkly playful and deathly serious songs of melancholia, performed with ukulele or autoharp accompaniment, and described by Mark Coles on BBC Radio as “Beautiful... in a miserable way.”

As always, there’ll be plenty of open mic slots available. Sign-up opens on the night from 7:15pm for a 7:30pm start.

See you there!
