I still can’t quite believe I’m typing this, but here goes: my pottery and I were on the BBC! 😍 Escape to the Country came to my studio a few weeks back, filming a segment on Devon, and a couple looking to move here—Neil and Lisa— spent a morning with me, throwing on the wheel between questions about the area’s creative scene.
Some of my pots had a brief moment on the Pottery Throw Down a couple of years ago, but this is the first time I’ve actually been in front of a camera myself.
It’s a strange thing, having a camera in the room for something that’s usually just me and the clay. But it was a good reminder of why I set up here in the first place: Tiverton, tucked into this beautiful corner of Devon, with a genuinely artistic streak that people don’t always expect to find here. The same crew also spent time with rockcitytiverton, , Liznojan books and some of the folk at Tiverton pannier market , and it’s good company to be featured alongside! They’re all the kind of places that make this town worth staying curious about, whatever corner of it you’re in.
The episode’s out now if you’d like to watch it: S27 E20 (The bit about Tiverton starts at minute 14.25.)
And if it’s put you in mind of pottery, my full collections are all on my website. Have a browse. Everything’s still made here in Devon, one pot at a time. 🍯
