🚨 IMPORTANT NOTICE — PLEASE READ 🚨
From now on, there will be a £25 holding fee taken against bookings to cover any damage to my tablecloths and chair covers.
PLEASE NOTE: This post is not aimed at my customers from this weekend. It is simply a general notice following some of the damage I’ve experienced the last couple of months and to make everyone aware going forward.
I completely understand that accidents happen at parties and events. A pint of l***r and black being spilled on a tablecloth, Jack Daniel’s and Coke, food accidentally dripping from a plate — these things happen. That is part of running an event-hire business, and I don’t expect everything to come back absolutely perfect.
What I do not appreciate is careless behaviour that causes unnecessary, permanent damage.
For example, food being smeared all over tablecloths, leaving large stains that cannot be removed, candle wax being poured on the tables. If a tablecloth cannot be salvaged, I then have to replace it — and that comes directly out of my pocket.
Battery-powered/LED candles are absolutely fine.
The same applies to my chair covers.
Feet going through chair covers happens, particularly moving chairs around the floor. If something like that happens accidentally, I can usually get it repaired. But deliberately picking at, pulling or making holes in chair covers is completely different. If the damage is beyond repair, the cover has to be thrown away and replaced.
And these things are NOT cheap to replace.
My tablecloths and chair covers are premium-quality products. They are not cheap disposable covers. My tablecloths are professionally dry-cleaned and ironed for every single event before they go out again.
These are items that are hired repeatedly for different customers and different events. They are not simply used once and forgotten about.
I am always reasonable when something genuinely happens. I understand parties. I understand accidents. I understand that things get messy.
What I ask in return is simply RESPECT for my property and my business.
Please remember that when you hire from me, these items are being used by you temporarily and are 9/10 booked out to another event.
So please treat them with the same care and respect that you would expect someone to show your own belongings.
The £25 holding fee will now apply to bookings and may be retained where damage to tablecloths or chair covers is caused by misuse, negligence or deliberate damage.
Please look after my items — they are my business, my investment and my livelihood.
