Ashby Art Club Ashby Art Club is a friendly club for all who are interested in all types of media, and enjoy meeting others with similar interests.

Ashby Art Club provides a friendly atmosphere where you can develop your drawing and painting skills and talk to others who enjoy wrestling with a brush, pen, pastel or pencil. The Club currently has around 60 Members. Beginners are welcome, you don't need to have painted before. The club meets weekly on Monday evenings at Smisby Village Hall (near Ashyby-de-la-Zouch, South Derbyshire), 7pm to 9p

m. There is also a day time meeting too, which takes place on the second Wednesday of each month from 9.30am to 12.00. The club is closed on Bank Holidays and closes for about 4 weeks in July/August. The programme includes: Monthly demonstrations by professional artists (non-members are welcome £5.00 pp for each demo), exhibitions, social events, competitions, day workshops and organised activities. The club's objective is "To encourage the appreciation and practice of art". Follow us on Twitter:

A very successful first two days at Ashby Art Club exhibition at Ticknall village hall. Last day tomorrow- Bank Holiday Monday! There’s still lots of beautiful artwork available to buy. We’ve also topped up the cake supplies!
Come and support the local artists and take a look their gorgeous work, have a cuppa and maybe enjoy a stroll around the very pretty village of Ticknall (near Ashby de la Zouch & Calke Abbey).

Join us for a mixed media painting workshop with Kay Power. Limited places (first come first served).

Kay studied Fine Art in Nottingham and Holland. Her work is a cross between Victorian Portraiture and taxidermy, using birds as her subject.

Please bring your own materials although some paint materials will be available from Kay on the day.
(You can paint on whichever surface you prefer, acrylic board, watercolour paper, etc.)

Cost £30.00 for members, £35.00 non-members

Tea, coffee and biscuits available all afternoon.
