🩷 REAL TALK 💜
I am resharing this post of ours from January, as my inbox has been inundated lately with mum’s struggling with anxiety and confidence and feeling too scared to come to a group. Having a baby is the most wonderful time of your life. But it’s also the most difficult. Nothing can prepare you for the change, the sleepless nights, the emotions. When people come to Dream Club, I usually ask them how they’re finding motherhood. I often get replies like, “Oh it’s amazing, I’m loving it!”, but I always like to acknowledge the hard too. You’ll often find me replying with, “Ahh it is isn’t it- it can be overwhelming though can’t it- nothing can prepare you.” And in that moment, I see people’s mask drop, when they realise that they can be honest. That they’re in a safe space. We will always acknowledge how incredible being a parent is, how incredibly blessed you are, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t the single most difficult thing we will ever ever do.
Social media is so good at tricking us into thinking that everything should be perfect. We only ever see the surface on social media. And I often think people might see some of our stories, see some of the pictures people post of their babies in our beautiful space and think that we are surface level…. just a pretty room with twinkly lights. Just like social media doesn’t show the reality, neither do some of the photos you might see on our socials. Yes we have a beautiful space. Yes it’s very instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing. Yes our space is designed to help your baby develop. But that’s all surface level. What social media doesn’t show you at our classes are the real conversations that go on between parents. The raw, real, honest conversations that I’m so lucky to hear and be a part of at times. The conversations about your traumatic birth, about your post natal depression, the sleepless nights, your IVF journey, your eldest child adapting to being a big sibling, your anxieties about going back to work, your fears about weaning. Our social media cannot possibly show you the reality of what you’ll get from coming to a Dream Club session…but we promise you, it’s real, it’s honest, it’s raw and there’s absolutely nothing pretty and instagrammable about some of the things we talk about. But it’s incredible either way! And you WILL come away feeling lighter after 90 minutes with us 🫶🏻🩷 Because parenting is hard! But we’ve got you 💜

And THAT’S exactly why I created this space for you all. Because when mine were tiny, I needed somewhere like Diddy Dreams so much!
