Good morning ❤️

It’s a brand-new week and we’ve got lots of lovely new things to share with you, but I thought we’d start off the week by sharing these beautiful handmade (by lots of lovely Calme ladies) poppies.

They’re £5 each and every penny will be donated to the Royal British Legion. If you’d like one, just pop us a message and we’ll invoice you..

We may only be in September … but we’re already planning a little Christmas magic at Calme 🎄✨

And when I say Christmas… I mean CHRISTMAS. 😂

Calme will be transformed into our own little winter wonderland — Christmas tree up, carols playing, festive treats and all those gorgeous cosy Christmassy feels. ❤️

The wonderful Lindsay from Paintopia will be joining us to teach faux calligraphy — beautiful techniques that you can actually take away and use again and again.

Christmas cards, gift tags, place names, invitations… or just because there’s something incredibly relaxing about sitting down with a pen and creating something beautiful by hand. ✍️

No pressure. No need to be artistic. Just come, switch off, have a giggle, learn something new and get completely carried away with Christmas with us. 🎄😂

Because if we’re doing a Christmas workshop at Calme… we’re not doing it by halves. ❤️

☀️ GOOD MORNING — WE’RE STARTING TODAY WITH A LITTLE COMPETITION! ☀️

Those of you who have seen our recent posts will know about our Gift to Others — Calme Kindness Fund. 💗

This is our way of helping to make Calme accessible to more people by creating free and low-cost workshops, activities and gatherings for our community.

The money will sit safely in this little fund and be used to buy games, creative materials, props and all those things that will help us create more family- and community-focused events—making someone’s life feel a little easier, a little warmer and a little more supported.

🍂 WIN AUTUMN AFTERNOON TEA FOR TWO AT CALME—WORTH £38! 🍂

I’ll place the donation link in the first comment underneath this post.

The minimum donation is just £2, although there are other amounts to choose from if you would like to give a little more.

💗 Every donation made will create one entry into our competition.

Entries will close at 7am on Tuesday 8 September, and we’ll draw our winner at 8am that morning.

Thank you for helping us fill this little fund and turn it into something that can make a real difference to someone else.

Our November bingo will be a fund raiser for games for our upcoming Board games event. So if you attend this you are donating and creating! No pressure lol 😝 But we would love to have you onboard (no pun intended) helping is to provide healthy calming environments (unless it gets too competitive lol) for families and friends.

Good morning. If this post seems like I’m rambling or this week feels like an over share please forgive me but I so want people to know what’s at the heart of Calme and maybe come and chat about what they need or what they have to give….

I have said many times that I have no idea why Calme exists. It was never a plan, never a dream. Not in a million years. I was retiring. That was the plan.
The Universe however had another plan and that’s definitely the reason that Calme is here.

Calme is about me and you. It’s about new beginnings and reminders and giving people a chance or a second chance. It’s about seeing people, recognising when someone needs help or support or just a few warm words. It’s about seeing what the future looks like for ourselves through the eyes and lives of others and hoping that if we can make things just a little better for them that our futures might look brighter too.
It’s about sharing loneliness and grief. Not about saying the right things, talking the talk, but about being there and walking the walk. It’s about helping people start new businesses or retire from a life time of working. It’s about helping people to reconnect to the real heart beat of the universe after years of computer screens and isolated working and travelling. It’s about putting a pause on what “is” and rediscovering the wholesomeness of what “was”.

Its all this things and more. Family board game night, digital detox, alcohol free bar - yep! It’s about all those things. The good old days maybe?

So find us if you need us or find us if you can help.
Either way you have a place at Calme and we would love to meet you 💖

Sunday is fully booked and we can’t wait to get started and create four more sewing sensations. Our ladies will thread and rethread until they do it in their sleep lol and will then undertake a driving test complete with emergency stop ‼️ 🛑 Curves and straight lines and then onto to the more artistic part of the workshop. If you haven’t paid attention to your machine for years or haven’t ever been introduced to one then book yourself a fabulous morning or evening with us and of course the girls.

Mine machine is called Hilda after my grandma 💖

I will share the other four names on Sunday 💖

Thank you to Ken for being our best buddie. Phil was struggling to put a new shed together and asked Ken for a lift for a couple of hours - he asked him yesterday morning and apart from bedtime he’s been here with Phil until an hour ago.

My lovely mum. We have been trawling charity shops today for board games ♟️ we got Cludeo but not the original - but mum says it’s the younger version. Thanks mum 😃
We are still on the look out for Monopoly, Frustration, Othello….
Our family board game event is hopefully a lovely way to get people taking to each other and not to our phones. If you have any games that you would to donate or have no one to play with so could bring them to Calme lol drop me a message I would love love love to hear from you.

Like and share coming up. I need your help 🙏🏼

Good morning. This mornings like and share is simple but so important. This lovely friendship event has a cost of £10 per person. That £10 or multiples of £10 will buy coffee and cake and some little treats. Hand creams or face packs or magazines, it may even help towards the rent or the bills at Calme. What it won’t do is pay wages - that’s not the focus here at Calme. You are the focus, you or someone you may know. 💖
We hope that you will join us for friendship and for fun. A new way to get out and meet people or meet up with people you already know so please bring your people. If the £10 is going to prevent you from coming then all you need to do is privately message me so that we know to expect you. No judgement and no drama - just love and support and an army of beautiful people to attach yourself to. I promise x
