Well what a concert we had today, a massive thank you to all who attended and to Leigh Community Choir for your fabulous a capella performance which had us reaching for the stars and following that rainbow with big smiles on our faces. £384 raised for the RNLI. 👍

Further to our post on the 30th November, the donation we made to SUDC was doubled through the Big Give Trust’s ‘Big Give Christmas Challenge’, not a Government Initiative. Thank you all once again for your donations, every little helps. 👍

Here are some photos from our concert on 29th November. A piano and singing solo by our wonderful pianist Phil Cookson, choir songs, a poem about a Christmas tree and a Cat, now there's a great combination, read by Kay Harvey, a humorous monologue by Margaret Hall and an additional 3 men (kings), borrowed from the audience. Oh yes, and during all of this frivolity, one of us, I won't mention any names, had time for a nap! Enjoy! 😀

Well what a great afternoon it was at our concert yesterday. The room was full and to hear audience members singing along was wonderful. The profit from yesterday goes toward the donation we made at our last concert with Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band and thanks to a government initiative the total amount will be doubled for SUDC Foundation. We’ll keep you posted on the final amount. A big thank you from us goes to all the helpers from St. Bernadette’s Parish Hall serving the refreshments and other volunteers helping out, thank you. 🤩

Congratulations to our very own MD, Marilyn Marshall, for 60 years with brass bands, latterly with Thornton Cleveleys Brass Band and we hope you wear your long service medal with pride.

Most of the music was arranged / composed by Paul F Cooper who led the band last night with a heart felt performance that sounded as emotional as it was magnificent, a fair few of us had to wipe a tear or two away.

The total raised at the concert last night was £1062.38 plus £2100 in donations which will go to the SUDC charity.

Thank you, the audience, for your attendance and the concert participants, including the volunteers, for all your dedicated hard work in making the event happen.
