Thornafest Cancellation‼️‼️

With a heavy heart, we must announce the cancellation of Thornafest.

We want to thank every single one of you who supported us over the past four years. You made this festival incredibly special, and we are deeply grateful for the memories we shared.

Unfortunately, due to low ticket sales, we are not in a financial position to move forward with the event at this stage.

Everyone who bought a ticket will receive a full refund automatically.

The funds will be returned to the original payment method you used.

Take care, and thank you all once again for your support shown.

Bringing Victor Simonelli to Thornafest, isn’t just another booking.

Victor Simonelli is one of the defining names behind the New York house sound of the 1990s — known for a soulful style blending gospel, disco and jazz. Across a career spanning decades, he’s released hundreds of tracks under aliases including Solution, NY’s Finest and Groove Committee, helping shape underground dance music worldwide.

He’s worked alongside some of the biggest names in house music history including Frankie Knuckles, Arthur Baker and Masters at Work, while also producing and remixing for globally recognised artists such as Michael Jackson, David Bowie and Quincy Jones.

This is genuine house music heritage coming to Thornaby.

We fully understand your disappointment that this event was cancelled before all performances had taken place by the event’s planned fantastic line up.

Unfortunately, over that weekend, along with many other areas of the country our event was severely affected by the lack of maintenance of the water infrastructure and sewage that was unable to disperse was then spilling onto the field of the event. This was entirely due to the sheer volume of rainwater that entered the waste-water network. The event management team therefore felt they could not risk the Health and Safety of everyone who were already on site for the event, or those who were planning to attend for the evening and a decision was reached to close the event site for this reason. Although the rain stopped later that evening, the sewage remained until the areas were disinfected and cleaned thoroughly during the following days.

The tickets sold for the event were sold via the Eventbrite site and the website does clearly state on booking that there are no refunds on purchases which is standard practise for music festivals.

We'd like to thank everyone who tried to make the best of the appalling freak weather, the artists, the stalls, the staff but most of all you guys for your support and beautifully dancing through the rain.
See you next year, hopefully with better weather.

This was the dance yesterday before health & safety staff pulled the plug, completely out of my hands, all the Djs who play delivered as expected and thats why i asked them to play, Dj jo manji (Davey Jones) just warming things up for Victor Simonelli Victor Simonelli Pagefour
You could feel the atmosphere and it was set to blow the roof right off, can not thank you all enough for supporting the Boogaloo Dance Tent, it was set for something really special , rain and burst drains stop play...!!!🫶🔈💃🕺
