We are delighted to announce the resuming of our exhibitions programme for the remainder of 2020! Beginning with ‘21st Century British Landscape’ (31 October - 28 November) featuring four artists Deborah Grice, Amelia Humber, Emerson Mayes & James Naughton.
From Saturday 31 October the gallery will be open 10-1pm & 2-5pm Mon-Sat. To aid social distancing we will be allowing six people in the gallery at any one time, appointments will not be required unless you have a specific enquiry. Please have your face covering on prior to entering, hand sanitiser will be available.
We look forward to seeing you and will be sharing our 2021 calendar soon.

A rare investment opportunity
We have been instructed by a client to sell Norman Ackroyd CBE RA: St Kilda Revisited Boxset (2010) - the highly sought after suite of ten etchings.
The etchings are all approximately 17.5 x 28 cm and are presented in a handmade solander case with additional supporting material. Fifty boxsets were made and were all purchased by national institutions and private collectors. Three of the aquatints in the set are long out of edition of 90 prints and so unavailable in the primary market.
Norman Ackroyd has made several trips to St Kilda and regards the island as one of the sites that has inspired him the most.

Posted @withregram • @hepworthwakefield Following confirmation from the government that it will be safe for museums and galleries to reopen from 4 July, The Hepworth Wakefield will open its doors for the first time in over four months on Saturday 1 August.
The popular and critically acclaimed Bill Brandt / Henry Moore exhibition will be extended until 1 November. Advance booking is available now and is strongly recommended. Link in bio.
Initially, the gallery will open Wednesday – Sunday, 10am – 5pm (last entry 4.30pm). The Hepworth Wakefield Garden, designed by Tom Stuart-Smith, has remained open throughout lockdown and will continue to be open daily, free of charge.
A range of measures are being put in place to ensure the safety of visitors, staff and volunteers. These include hygiene stations with hand sanitiser throughout the building, monitoring of room capacity to ensure social distancing measures are adhered to, all staff wearing face coverings and regular cleaning of public areas throughout the day.
Simon Wallis, Director of The Hepworth Wakefield, said: We are so looking forward to reopening our doors on Yorkshire Day and welcoming visitors back to the gallery. We want to reassure people that we are putting in place a detailed and rigorous plan to ensure you can once again safely visit our beautiful galleries. Thank you for your continued support of our charity and patience at this challenging time.

Emma won the Printmaker Prize, sponsored by Zillah Bell Gallery, as part of the 2013/14 Prize Exhibition. She has always been interested in materials and the connotations they have. Her piece ‘Lockdown 2.0’ is part of the Northern Lights Retrospective at Saul Hay Gallery.
The piece investigates the impact recent events have had on our way of communicating. Using a book highlighting the importance of grandparents, Emma explores the weight of the virus for the vulnerable and wider society.

You wait months for an exhibition to open and then...

This was going to be a post about how delighted I was to say that the exhibition '21st Century Landscapes' had opened at Zillah Bell Gallery But after Saturday's announcement it's quickly become a post banging the drum about visiting quickly before the exhibition has to close due to this week's lockdown.

The gallery is open Mon - Wed, 10 -1 and 2 -5. Go on, get a bit of art appreciation into your veins before you're back staring at your walls/TV for a month!

Unfortunately the gallery doesn't have any way on seeing/buying the work online at the moment, but I know they are busy behind the scenes trying to rectify this. Therefore here are the works I have on show and if any do catch your eye just drop Bev and Lucy an email as I'm sure they'd be delighted to hear from you.
