In Memory of Emily
Bronze
A while ago I posted about some wax that I gifted to myself for my 40th.
Well, sculpting is definitely training me in the art of patience. Wax, it turns out, is very difficult to sculpt with, very different from clay. It needs to somehow stay a certain temperature in order to maintain malleability. If you want it made into a bronze, this is a very lengthy and complex process involving a huge amount of skill. But I've wanted to have a go at having a bronze made for a very long time and the learning and the outcome for me was well worth the wait.
Thank you to for the tour of the foundry and for casting my first bronze, a memorial to my sister.
