Heres the big red abstract painting I was showing you with the glaze the other day . It’s Completely finished now but won’t be on the website until it’s dry . I’m really pleased with how it’s turned out and glad I took the gamble of painting over Dolly mixture . It’s still has the joyous spirit but is much more harmonious than the original

It’s been tricky trying to move from being Tewkesbury art studios to Jane Clatworthy abstracts, let alone trying to change from being a Calvert to a West! Anyway I think I’ve sorted the former and now have a much slicker website and buying experience for my customers.
Right back to my easel 😊

My lovely friend just sent me this photo . I love how happy we look here . I’m still not quite used to being called Mrs West but I love that we are husband and wife . It does feel quite different and though we are back from honeymoon we are still revelling in the magic of the promises we made xx

Last full day of our honeymoon in Malta tomorrow . It’s been lovely . Time to unwind and recover from the last crazy eight months . Lots of culture , gorgeous food ( I reckon I’ve put on a stone 😮) dolphins , Caravaggio, dining in a palace, swimming and romance but mainly lots and lots of chilling out and reading books . I’m looking forward to coming back , seeing my loved ones and getting stuck into some new painting

What a fabulous afternoon we had the Malta institute for creative arts . The space is phenomenal and gives the art room to breathe and shine . spent time in Malta interpreting its landscape, culture and history and produced his response in stunning mighty canvases. My favourite ,though , were the series of installations in the barrel tunnels . Simple but spot on , with a yellow buoy as a focal point in each tunnel, you are able to change your vision of the composition of the interior as you walk through the space . The light and shade , the crumbling paint , the grey of the painted gates had my abstract painting head in heaven . So worth a visit
