Virtua Racing Cab converted to multigame home arcade machine - Plays several racing games including Virtua Racing, Saga Rally 3 and Macro Cart. Retro Leisure is the place to go for Arcade repairs, restorations and upgrades. In the back of our workshop we have an original Gauntlet arcade machine, which we’ve slowly been restoring over the last 6 months
This is a very quick instructional video on how to dismantle and rebuild Gauntlet joysticks.
I repair and restore the original joysticks from our machine using original parts including previously unused 1981 Atari joystick shafts, which are in mint condition. This is just part of a larger puzzle which will come later.

In our last video we where excited to recieve our new artwork back from our printers. This time I'll be applying the artwork, building a control panel and start getting the Point Blank and Killer Instinct arcade machines back together.

Our daily work consists of restoring classic arcade and pinball machines, and they often need new or repaired artwork creating. We rebuild the broken artwork by scanning and digitally repairing the image using Adobe photoshop and illustrator and then have the artwork printed on high quality laminated vinyl for best finish.

Upgraded for a customer looking to get some usability from their terminally broken upright driving arcade cabinet. This cab now houses a 24" IPS screen for maximum viewing angle, runs Saga Rally 3 and plays identically to the original arcade.

Its sad when arcade machines reach the end of their lives😭 But is great when that means you have more space to work on pinball machines.💪

We've had some really interesting projects come in this month, including:-
An original Bugs Bunny Pinball machine, which will be fully restored. We feel extremely lucky to be able to work on machines of this calibre. Carefully restore them and returning them to their owners is a joy🎉

Batman forever Pinball none worker, suffering from someone's attempted repair, we found the fault n fixed it. It now works, so happy customer and it's having a colour DMD fitted to replace it's original which was smashed.

Both of these machines are having playfield protectors fitted and full service, rubbers, new premium balls as their going into commercial use in a pub for many people to play.

We have an early total original Starwars arcade and another one which has sadly been gutted by an earlier owner. The original Starwars now works great it needed the monitor recapping, game board repairing. New screen bezel with artwork plus yoke art. We've also lifted the cab off the ground as it's feet were pushed up though the base of the cab. We also converted it to 240v.

There's also a grey defender reproduction being build to customers very specific instructions. It's got two custom control and will run on JRoc multi Williams game board.

And on top of all that. We delivered 3 awesome fully restored pinball machines - Adamms Family, Hook and No Fear Pinballs sold to Yum Yum World in Rugby. These are on free play and accessable to the public.

May the Forth be with you. Original StarWars arcade machines converted to MAME can be a little lacking in quality and game play. We have developed a conversion package, with smoother game play, a bigger brighter screen and awesome audio.

We've just got the interesting arcade machine into our workshop. Its an Up Scope produced by Grand Productions Inc back in 1986.
Its going to be fun restoring this Unique machine and we're up for the challenge. We'll drop another video when we've got into the project.

It’s been very busy over the last few months in our workshop. We’ve been repairing and modifying some awesome pinball machine including:-

Star Wars – Data East 1992
Ghost Busters – Stern 2016
Corvette – Bally 1992
Star Wars Trilogy – Sega 1997
Ice Fever – Gottlieb 1985
Demolition Man – Williams 1994
Twilight Zone – Bally 1993
Adams Family – Bally 1992

We’ve restored a fire damaged machine back to full health, tracked down and repaired countless wiring headaches and diagnosed and resolved problems with components on boards.

Once we’re done with the fault finding, electrical repair and restoration the real fun can start Modding.
When we talk about Mods or Modification the first and most important rule is Mods are reversable, so they can be removed leaving no damage to machine.

The second rule is they must be an improvement. For example we only install coloured LEDs where they enhance the look of the playfield and we also use LEDs with different colour temperatures where appropriate.

Here’s some of the Modifications we’ve recently installed:-

Playfield Protector – Does exactly that
Colour DMD – Looks great and can improve your game play
Pin Sound – Replacement sound board with new high quality audio and music
Colour Light up Ball shoots, poppers and apron
Stereo speakers, amp and sub woofer – Some modern machines have thin sound this fixes it
Themed colour side blades
LED lamp replacement – We replace ALL the lamps on and under the playfield
LED’s installed in playfield models
Full sticker and plastics replaced on playfield
LCD television added to playfield – plays video in loop
And more…

As you can see, we’ve been busy bunnies doing the things we love to do.

Theatre of Magic was released in 1995. It was one of 3 machines created for the Zen Studios Williams pinball Collection.
This is a brilliant pinball machine that’s loaded with features. It looks stunning its fast and is sooo much fun to play.
We really enjoy our work at Retro Leisure because we get to repair, restore and upgrade, Pinball and Arcade Machines every day and we sometimes get to play a few too.
