We're looking forward to our finale concert with the Sam Sweeney Trio.

It is at 5pm, with doors opening at 4:30pm, so not a late night one this time.

Just around the corner, The Alice Cross Community Centre will be open 3:30pm to 4:30pm to grab a drink before heading up to St James Church.

We look forward to seeing everyone!

Last night's concert at St James Church with Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman kick-started the festival in a BIG way!

Kathryn Roberts & Sean Lakeman led the audience on a journey through fantastical stories, with gentle heartache, bravery, laughter, and soaring song. It is truly remarkable to be held by the performers so that you not only feel safe making these musical journeys but also feel like no time has passed at all when finally the evening comes to an end.

This was definitely a concert to remember! Thank you, Kathryn and Sean! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Countdown to ZERO marks the start of Teignmouth Folk Festival today! Kicking off the weekend this evening is an amazing concert from Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman.

Their contribution to the British folk scene is widely recognised, with twice being named Best Duo at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards, plus accolades from Spiral Earth and Fatea Magazine. Their live shows are full of charm, wit, and musical mastery, making them a cornerstone act of the British folk and acoustic scene.

In 2025 they celebrated 30 years of making music, and they released their first live concert album, Another Day at the Circus, capturing the warmth and emotion of their performances.

If you're attending this amazing event, keep in mind that: Doors open 7:30pm for an 8pm start.

Teignmouth Folk Festival is almost here and we’ve got an amazing weekend lined up:

Today we present Bow Creek, the last (but not least) of our fabulous performers on the Triangle! They are playing on Sunday 21st June at 2:30pm.

Bow Creek is an experienced, versatile folk band renowned for crafting their own folk-fusion arrangements of traditional tunes from around the world. They are an international four piece band who play stomping folk, shanties, Irish & Americana. 🌍🎻

Teignmouth Folk Festival Countdown, 4 days to go!

🎻✨ Meet Alex Lord — playing on Sunday 21st June at 1pm — a fiddle player and guitarist whose roots run deep in the traditional music of the British Isles, with a special love for his home county of Lancashire. From picking up the fiddle at nine, inspired by his rockstar-uncle Phil Beer, to studying with Sam Sweeney in the National Youth Folk Ensemble, Alex’s journey has been a vibrant ride through folkland. 🚀

In 2019 he shone as a BBC Young Folk Award Finalist, and since then he’s taken the UK and Europe by storm, becoming a core member of The Jack Tars. 🌊🎶

Influenced by the masters like Gjermund Larsen, Sam Sweeney, and Sam Lee, Alex’s playing sits proudly in the English folk tradition — with a groove that twists and turns through melodies, sometimes even surprising himself. He’s drawn to sea songs and coastal stories, weaving them into every performance. 🐚🌬️

He has now released his debut EP, Day Trip to Argentina — the title a nod to a chaotic, unforgettable detour to Buenos Aires, where he almost joined an Argentinian sea shanty band popular in the Cornwall folk circuit. 🎶

Stay tuned for more tunes, tours, and tales from the road. This is just the beginning. 🚢🎤
