John Skinner Art John Skinner is an artist living in Teignmouth, Devon. John started painting in earnest in his twenties, whilst living in Newcastle.

With no formal training, John developed a distinct technique and an unorthodox approach to watercolours.

This one instantly made me think of those Teignmouth evenings… 🌅

Personally, I love it — the colours, the warmth, the way it just sort of glows.

John actually had a rare tidy moment for this one (which didn’t last long 😄)!

He’s been getting things ready for his upcoming exhibition “Current Obsessions 3”, and this was one of the smaller pieces he finished for the gallery.

Right… we’re giving this another go 👋

For those who were here before, this page had a bit of a life a while back… and then quietly disappeared for a bit 😅

I’m Sam (from Voyage Fair Trade, Art & Workshops — taking over from Sandra — and after catching up with John this week, it felt like the right time to bring it back properly.

This was him earlier ⬇
Completely in his element… paint everywhere, desk full (as always), and working away on something he won’t fully show me yet…

Apparently working he is working on “top secret” project for an upcoming exhibition! (This painting won't be in it)

I’ll try and share what I can (without getting told off)…Nice to have you here 🙂!
