TAVISTOCK GOOSE FAIR – WEDNESDAY 14th OCTOBER 2026

We've been a bit quiet recently but it’s almost time for one of Tavistock’s biggest and most eagerly anticipated days of the year!

📅 Wednesday 14th October
⏰ 9am – 9pm
📍 Tavistock Town Centre

From early morning until the evening, the town will be filled with stalls, shopping, food, entertainment and plenty to see and do.

Take a wander through the Fair and browse an amazing variety of food and drink, local produce, crafts, gifts, clothing, accessories, homewares and much more. 🛍️

And there’s even more to discover beyond the Goose Fair stalls!

🧺 Tavistock Pannier Market will be open, with its fantastic mix of local traders and independent businesses.

🎨 Butchers’ Hall will also be hosting its Goose Fair Market, showcasing local makers, creators and artists.

☕🍰🍻 While you’re exploring, don’t forget to support Tavistock’s wonderful independent shops, cafés, restaurants and bars – perfect for a coffee, lunch, a drink or a spot of shopping.

The fun doesn’t stop when the shopping is done!

🎠 FUN FAIR RIDES

No Goose Fair would be complete without the fun fair! 🎢 Enjoy the sights, sounds and excitement of the fairground, with rides and attractions for all ages.

🎶 LIVE ENTERTAINMENT

🎤 Head to the stage at Castlebridge School throughout the day to enjoy performances from a host of local entertainers.

🕺💃 And as the evening gets going, get ready to dance the night away with an ABBA Tribute Show from 7pm! 🎶✨

Whether you’re coming to hunt for a bargain, discover something different, enjoy local creativity, enjoy the fun of the fair, listen to live entertainment, meet up with friends or simply soak up the sights and sounds – make a day of it!

🌟 CALLING LOCAL SMALLHOLDERS, BUSINESSES, CHARITIES & COUNTRY CRAFTERS! 🌟

The Tavistock Goose Fair Cattle Market Open Day is a much-loved celebration of rural life which takes place each year, alongside Tavistock Goose Fair.

This year, however, there is a possibility that the event may not go ahead — and we’d really like to hear from people who are willing to help make it happen. ❤️

We’re looking for volunteers who would be happy to give their time, ideas, skills or practical help to bring the day together.

We’d especially love to hear from:

🐄 Smallholders & farmers
🌿 Local businesses
🎨 Country crafters & makers
🤝 Charities & community groups
🙌 Anyone who would like to volunteer and support the event

✨Exciting Changes to Goose Fair 2026✨

We are excited to announce at this years event we will have an entertainment stage at Castlebridge School where we will showcase live music and local performers throughout the day.

Take a break from mooching around the vibrant variety of stalls and exhilarating funfair to enjoy some delicious street food and a refreshing drink whilst being entertained by a packed schedule of local talented musicians 🎤

🌿 Tavistock Country Garden Show – 24th & 25th May 2026 🌿

Join us for this established annual celebration of all things garden-related, returning with the popular “Grow it – Eat it – Enjoy it” theme.

This year’s show will once again transform Tavistock Pannier Market, Bedford Square and Guildhall Square into a vibrant hub of traders, exhibitors and gardening inspiration.

We would like to extend our thanks to all the exhibitors and traders who took part last year, and especially to the many visitors who helped create such a fantastic atmosphere.

First hosted in May 2005, the Tavistock Garden Festival has grown into a firm favourite on the town’s events calendar, offering a great day out for the whole family.
