Tavistock Foodbank The Trussell Trust is a charity founded on Christian principles that does not affiliate itself with any political party and receives no government funding.

Tavistock Foodbank is open every Friday from 10.00am to 14.00 pm

How a Foodbank works...
1. Non-perishable food is donated by the public, maybe at a supermarket collection, harvest festival or drop off point across the city.
2. Volunteers collect the food and sort it at the warehouse.
3. Frontline care professionals, including Health Visitors, Social Workers, Connexions staff, CAB advisors, and m

any other organisations, give foodbank vouchers to people in crisis who they are working with.
4. Foodbank vouchers are then exchanged for 3 days of food at the foodbank distribution centre.
5. Foodbank takes time to listen and signpost clients to further support. Tavistock Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust's UK-wide foodbank network. Tavistock Foodbank Registered Charity Number 1198161

Tavistock Foodbank is looking for volunteers to join our Pitts Cleave warehouse team.
We need a coordinator to oversee the collection, storage and distribution of food supplies . Are you a team worker with good communication, organisational and planning skills who could coordinate a small team of friendly volunteers.? If so please contact us about this rewarding role. There will be full opportunity to work alongside the current coordinator to enable you to take on the role.

We are also looking for an additional volunteer to join the existing team in the collection of donations, stock keeping and transfer of goods between Foodbank sites.. Hours can be flexible but ability to work on either Wed/Fri/Sat is useful. Please note that some lifting is required.

ADMIN VOLUNTEER NEEDED -CAN YOU HELP?

We need an additional volunteer to join our team providing admin support for Tavistock FB on Fridays 10-1.30, on a rota basis, (approximate commitment 1 in every 3 weeks). We're looking for someone who is reliable, a good team player, computer literate, with good organisational skills and committed to helping alleviate food poverty.
