Just picked this up from Character Graphics here in Taunton. The score is A3 size so that Arturo Serna can read it! Plenty of copies of parts for everyone, and I'm really looking forward to playing it with Exeter Symphony Orchestra next year! 😁

I've been putting off posting this on here until the groups in which I perform had been informed - that's Exeter Symphony Orchestra and Wellington Silver Band. I've developed an abdominal hernia issue. It painfully popped out and back in last week, and still isn't very good. My GP has referred me for an op to sort it, but who knows how far away that will be. It means I'm not able to play drums or tuba until it's sorted. It's not great news, but hopefully it can be sorted in the very near future. One is feeling rather grisly about it all at the moment.

Here's another brass band concert item derived from the final movement of my orchestral work 'Spitfire - a Symphonic Suite'. I thought it fitted very nicely into the brass band style, and it has a quartet section in the middle of it.

Well, the concerts are really what it is all about! They are the culmination of much hard work by the players, the Musical Director and his team. We hope, too, that our varied programmes help to build the reputation of ESO in Exeter (and indeed Devon) and to give pleasure to those who come along.

Well I did say I was going to compose a brass band tuba solo, and here it is. It's called 'Sanrda' as that's what I call my tuba - named after my favourite actress Sandra Bullock! The solo part is written for EEb Bass, BBb Bas and F Tuba.
