It's Tuesday! (Just about!)

This week is one of my absolute favourite scarf songs, The Wind is Blowing on the Washing Line.

It’s such a lovely one for little ones to move with the music, swaying their scarves along to the beat and feeling the pulse of the song.

You can also have lots of fun changing the tempo, faster for an incoming storm!

What actually happens at a Tiddlygigs concert?

It’s a hard thing to explain… so here we go!

Our concerts are designed especially for young children. That means:

• nobody expects your child to sit still
• movement, dancing and joining in are encouraged
• you’ll hear amazing live music up close
• your little one can experience real instruments in a relaxed space
• there’s time to chat and meet other families afterwards
• and of course… there’s always cake!

Our next concert is just one week away with the wonderful Joanne Green on violin.

Tuesday song share

This week is one I call the pirate song! I actually learnt it at baby rhyme time at the library when my first one was tiny.

A brilliant lap bouncer for babies, but still lots of fun for older children too. It’s great for:

• counting up
• feeling a steady beat
• actions!

Anyone know the 'proper' name for this one?!

We're delighted to welcome violinist Joanne Green back to Tiddlygigs on Saturday 13th June!

Many of you will remember Joanne from last year, when she had us all tiptoeing around the church to her pizzicato playing and following her on a trip around the church.

Join us for another relaxed morning of live music, specially designed for young children and their families, followed by refreshments and cake as always.

Very excited to finally start sharing a bit more about my brand new Tiddlygigs Storytime… Tiddalik the Frog!

Based on the Australian fairytale, this new interactive story is full of live music, storytelling and audience participation.

Our first performance will be on 6th August at Taunton Brewhouse, followed by two days performing at Taunton Flower Show.

Autumn term dates and venues will be announced soon… including hopefully a brand new venue.

Tuesday song share 🎶

A slightly different way to do a well known song today… Wind the Bobbin Up with your feet!

This is a lovely one for babies with the advantage of winding them too! Toddlers love it too and might even be able to do it themselves. My 6 year old would still happily let me do this now though. 😂

Wheels on the Bus is another one that works really well like this. Can you think of any others?

A few little moments from this morning's concert with Duo Correa Andrews 🎶

We had such a lovely time exploring music all about birds, with lots of different flutes. Thank you so much to everyone who came along.

I think my favourite bit was the song with the coo-ing dove!

Song share - the clock song!

This is a bit of a tricky one to sing, but children can keep the beat by making clock hands with their arms or joining in with the actions to the beat.

A great song for hellos and goodbyes in your setting or classes and for warming the children (and adults!) up with other actions.
