Two weeks, ten stunning outdoor venues. Shakespeare's timeless comedy of love and misunderstandings.

Come along to one of our wonderful venues, bring a few friends, a picnic and a glass or two of something refreshing. You'd best bring chairs too. Please note: no glass items to be brought into the North Curry Sports Ground venue.

All the venues will be open for picnics from 6.45pm and the performance will start at 7.30pm every evening. We look forward to seeing you there!

Tickets are valid for any performance from Tuesday 14th to Saturday 25th July 2026.

Auditions for Twelfth Night
Thespians Summer Tour 2026

We are holding auditions for this year’s summer tour of one of Shakespeare’s most iconic plays; Twelfth Night on Wednesday 8th April, Thursday 9th April and Tuesday 14th April, all at 7.30pm at The Place, Wilfred Road, TA1 1TB - plenty of parking available at Victoria Gate Car Park!

Auditions are open to anyone over the age of 16!

Different approach:

In a change to the usual audition format, director Barrie Palmer would like you to bring a speech from any Shakespeare play to give as a monologue. It can be a piece you love, one you find inspiring or anything you think showcases some of the best of Shakespeare’s writing. You don’t necessarily need to learn it, delivery is the thing.

Rehearsal nights for the show will be Mondays and Thursdays on an ‘as-called’ basis, inevitably with some extras sprinkled in as the tour approaches. The tour dates themselves are in the middle of July, Tuesday to Saturday for both weeks, specifically 14th-18th and 21st-25th July.

Tonight, we have the next in our series of play readings to choose our play for November.
This week it is 'The Haunting of Hill House' adapted by F Andrew Leslie from the novel by Shirley Jackson. Paranormal expert Dr John Montague rents Hill House, a place that the caretakers refuse to remain in at night, and invites a group to stay with him overnight.
The reading will take place at The Place, Wilfred Road, from 7.30 this Wednesday 1st April.

We will be holding a Launch Event on Wednesday 25th March, followed by auditions on Wednesday 8th April & Thursday 9th and Tuesday 14th April. All at 7.30pm at our HQ - The Place, Wilfred Rd, Taunton TA1 1TB.
