I really enjoyed creating this ink drawing and watercolour from life, as I learned how much love and care people put into their independent business. Whether it’s sweeping the walkway, arranging fresh flowers on the bike, and maintaining the displays within which felt like home.

The painting was created at the same time of day over multiple sittings, which assisted with the colour, light and shadows.
Painting the unique pattern of the tree was a lot of fun, which has peeked my interest with the characteristics of other trees.

The drawing was created directly with ink, followed
by watercolour and gouache.

Bristol was a fun experience as people were very respectful and kind, gesturing other locations to paint, as well as offering a top up of water or a cuppa!
