Watercolour painting. Humbugs

Belted Galloways known as 'Belties' or 'Humbugs'.
These three boys had the field to themselves and attracted many admirers. I understand they were Dad and his two sons and they are just beautiful.

Watercolour, watercolour pencil and gouache.
Langport, Somerset.

The river Parrett, Painted from the fifth seat along from the main car park, with the river in flood. Cold but magical and still with low level sunshine illuminating the willows and a flock of water birds rising and falling as in a dance.

The colours here seem to have changed from camera to computer screen ! The painting is much more golden in colour. Perhaps I will paint another to match the computer image !.🎨

Much painted, neglected garden shed in my Mother-in-Law's garden. Still an absolute delight for me and the birds.

Helland in Flood (again).
A favourite place and view, just down the lane from me. The animals are all safe in their barns for winter, and the sun catches the sparkling water and the willows thrive.

A well trodden path in a peaceful place. It is always different here and always appeals to the artist no matter the weather or the season. We have the National trust to thank for the access and the upkeep.

Newbridge.
At the bridge over the Tone in New Road (North Curry). When you look at this dear old farmhouse it appears lower than the level of the river.

WATER ON THE LEVELS
The River Parrett in flood.
Walking beside the river in Langport - such a wonderful place. Heading for breakfast and happy dogs playing and saying "Good Morning" to each other.
The birds landing on the water filled fields. What are they? They seem to be black and white and they add to the sparkle on the water.

Witcombe Valley; Ham Hill.
A serene and peaceful valley now - with no sign of its past. Sheep graze here, where once there was a medieval village, possibly abandoned due to the plague.
At the bottom - Little Norton, and at the top the Hamstone Quarry workings leading up to the Prince of Wales pub and the Monument.

Canal walking....
The same scene at different seasons, always beautiful and peaceful.
Easy walking being on the flat - providing I can hear the cyclists coming!!
