We had a visit from this lovely team of enthusiasts yesterday, all the way from Switzerland and taking an escape room holiday in the UK! The quickest time in Pieces of Eight so far and an excellent performance in Sub Terra too, all without any hints - well done ☺️

Hang on, it's not supposed to rain in space...!!! 🌧️😓

Unfortunately, C.R.E.W. has experienced a substantial leak due to a third party damaging the roof above without our knowledge. Most of the set is built from MDF, which doesn't do well when water is literally running down it and soaking in! It appears that most of the electronics have escaped unscathed, but the damage is still considerable and big parts of the game have had to be disassembled.

As a result, C.R.E.W. will be temporarily unavailable until the roof is fixed, the spaceship dries out, the floor is re-laid, new panels have been built to replace the ones damaged by water, and everything has been reassembled and tested. It's hard to give a definitive timeline at the moment, but we will keep you updated 😩

Fortunately, the leak appears to be very localised, so our other games - Sub Terra and Pieces of Eight - are still available to book as normal. We have availability this weekend, so come and play to help take our minds off the recent events😁!

I don't normally share business-type posts, but this is a great visual demonstration of how the recent rate changes have proved challenging for independent businesses.
For us specifically, the uplift of our venue's rateable value means that we now need to run about 70-ish extra games (or sell about 580 additional books each year)!
