We offer Royal Academy of Dance ballet, tap and modern classes for children from the age of 3. Our classes are friendly, fun and inclusive, helping children develop confidence, coordination, musicality and a love of dance in a supportive environment. 💕🎶

Did you know? 💭

From grade 1 onwards children also learn character dance in ballet.

It draws on traditional folk dances from Eastern Europe and Russia. It often includes:

* 🎭 Character-style costumes and theatrical expression
* 👞 Strong, rhythmic movements and stomping
* 🕺 Folk-inspired steps, turns and jumps
* 🎶 Music based on traditional European folk styles

Ballet & Emotional Regulation 🩰💗

Ballet isn’t just about developing strong bodies and beautiful technique , it can also help young children develop important emotional skills.

🩰 Learning to manage emotions- children experience excitement, frustration, nerves and disappointment in class, and learn that these feelings are okay.

🩰 Building resilience - when a step feels difficult, children learn to pause, try again and keep going.

🩰 Focus & self-control – listening to instructions, waiting for their turn and responding to music all encourage children to practise self-regulation.

🩰 Expressing feelings through movement – dance gives children a positive way to express themselves without always needing words.

🩰 Confidence & calm – the familiar structure of a ballet class can give children a sense of security, while movement and music can help them feel settled and connected.

Through ballet, children aren’t just learning how to dance , they’re learning how to feel, express, manage and understand their emotions in a supportive environment. 🌸

And sometimes, a little twirl is exactly what they need! 💕🩰

The Curiosity Lab - Free Hands-On Activities with the Festival of Tomorrow

Join our free, drop-in sessions at Pinetrees Library on Saturday 8th August where families can play, make, and discover together. This week, experiment with art and science through drawing activities and getting creative with our scribbling robots. Whether you stay for five minutes or a couple of hours, you’ll leave with new ideas, big smiles, and maybe even a few surprises.
