Thamesdown Ladies Choir Thamesdown Ladies Choir is based in Swindon. We love to sing & raise money to support local charities We all love to sing and have a sense of belonging.

Thamesdown Ladies Choir is one of the few ladies choirs in Swindon, we strike a nice balance between the more formal choral groups and the informal singing groups. We are a friendly group of community-minded ladies supporting local charities by our concerts. Over the years we have raised many thousands of pounds. There’s no need to audition or to be able to read music, all you need is to enjoy singing and to want to make new friends.

Thamesdown Ladies Choir treated us to a polished and engaging programme, showcasing their excellent musicianship, beautiful vocal blend, and obvious enjoyment of singing together. Their performance was full of energy, warmth, and confidence, making it a real pleasure to listen to.

One particularly memorable moment was their moving rendition of Greg Gilpin's 'This Is Why We Sing'. Performed with sincerity and expression, it beautifully captured the joy, friendship, and sense of belonging that comes from making music together – a message that perfectly reflects the spirit of Sing Out.

That spirit of collaboration continued as members of Swindon Male Voice Choir joined the Thamesdown Ladies Choir for a stirring performance of 'Shine' from Billy Elliot. Seeing the two choirs come together on stage was a wonderful celebration of community through music.

We've had a great Christmas run up this year singing at Asda, Immanuel lunch club, Tesco Extra and our main concert at Immanuel Church. Lots of smiles, joy, laughter and christmas jumpers and over £600 raised for Singing for the brain in aid of Alzheimers. Merry Christmas to all our friends and followers! ###
