I was so very saddened to hear of Abby's passing last week.
Abigail joined the Estelle School of Dance when she was two years old. She was always bright-eyed, keen to point her toes, and took part in her first Estelle show as a Blue Fairy in Pinocchio - her first taste of the Wyvern stage. Her love of performing was joyous, and over the years, she acted and danced in many shows & pantomimes. She featured in lead roles in shows such as Pinocchio, Hans Andersen and Peter Pan with unwavering energy.
Abby worked through her Ballet, Tap and Modern exams with enthusiasm and precision, with Trish by her side, cheering her on and supporting us both. They were both loyal to the school, reliable, generous and always ready to assist with fundraising events. Lasting friendships were made as students and "Dancing Mums" helped each other in the changing room while making costumes, accessories and props.
I was always delighted when Abby and Trish continued to visit for afternoon tea after Abby left Swindon, sometimes with other Estelle family members. It was good to catch up and hear about all of Abby's exciting dancing, teaching and choreography projects, and it was such a privilege to watch her on the stage.
Abby put her heart and soul into everything she did, and she bravely fought her illness with the same spirit. I am heart-broken for her parents, Trish and Keith, who have travelled an incredibly difficult journey since Abby's diagnosis.
The Estelle family will never be the same again, but we remember Abby with love, kindness and great affection: Always an Estelle Girl. ❤️
