Here’s some shots my husband Ben AC & I did during an interview with Helpu Cymru a mental health hub for men across Wales who need support.
We were so proud & honoured to be asked by Jake Devline-Reed - and the HelpU Cymru team to be even a small part in spreading awareness for this wonderful service.
I’ve lost so many friends because they feel they couldn’t express their feelings out of fear of not seeming ‘masculine’ enough or weak.
So if me talking about my own struggles with my mental health through my own experiences where this times were hard for me can inspire somebody else to find the courage to open up too:
THEN COUNT ME IN.❤️
BECAUSE ONE PERSON CAN INSPIRE MANY.
There’s so many little ways you can show another person that someone is there - things like:
• “How are you doing?”
• “I’m here to listen if you need someone”
• “Do you fancy a coffee & a catch up”
• “If you ever need a minute just give me a shout”
• “My door is always open”
• “You’re not alone”
• “I’m here”
• “What can I do to help you”
• “Let me know what you need”
Also showing vulnerability yourself to those who may need support just might be the key to inspiring them to open up to you.
Showing support may not always be as easy as you might think:
People who are suffering with their mental can often be defensive & they may not even realise themselves that they need support.
So please to anyone who sees this post - please always think to yourself?
What would I do if I needed support & wouldn’t I want someone to not give up on me even if I am not always the easiest to support in a time of poor mental health.
YOU are the key to saving another person from falling to a dangerous place with their mental health.
By holding out just one olive branch you could just save someone’s life. ❤️
Please share like and repost this post as I want this message to always remind people that opening up about your feelings is the strongest thing you can do & is the key to becoming a better, happier, healthier you. ❤️
