📚 Discover a new local history resource at Ystradgynlais Library!
In 2005 and 2006, the Sleeping Giant Foundation in Abercraf recorded oral-history interviews with older residents of the Ystradgynlais area. They shared memories of local life before and after the war—from home, family and schooldays to social activities, the surrounding area and the work of relatives and friends.
🎧 Although the interviews can be heard as audio clips through the National Library of Wales—they have now been transcribed and edited into a book, making these valuable memories easier for the local community and everyone interested in local history to read and enjoy.
📍 Visit Ystradgynlais Library to explore these fascinating first-hand accounts and discover more about local life before and after the war. Please share this post with anyone who may be interested in our community’s history!
