Opening the last day of this year’s Swansea International Jazz Festival will be the Cottle Brother’s Dixieland Ensemble. The ensemble will be bringing some Dixieland swing jazz and smooth New Orleans vibes to the National Waterfront Museum’s Ocean Room on Sunday 6 September at 2.00pm.

Award-winning jazz violinist Christian Garrick will be bringing his latest project ‘String Bag’ to this year’s Swansea International Jazz Festival for our seventh performance of the weekend!

The band will be performing a mixture of musical pieces inspired by Mahavishnu’s stylings and 70’s funk-fusion along with some original pieces from the band members. The performance will take place on Saturday 5 September at 8.00pm in Swansea Minster.

Many congratulations to Dave Cottle, an absolute cornerstone of the Swansea jazz scene, on the award of a BEM in the King’s Birthday honours.

The multi-talented pianist and trumpeter (sometimes playing both at the same time!) has run Swansea Jazz Club for a quarter of a century and founded the Swansea International Jazz Festival in 2014.

His talent, energy, and absolute dedication and commitment to jazz have been rightly recognised. Thank you for the music, Dave!

Llongyfarchiadau mawr i Dave Cottle, un o gonglfeini byd jazz Abertawe, am dderbyn BEM yn Anrhydeddau Pen-blwydd y Brenin.

Mae'r pianydd a'r trympedwr amryddawn (sy'n gallu chwarae'r ddau offeryn ar yr un pryd!) wedi cynnal Clwb Jazz Abertawe ers chwarter canrif, ac ef oedd sylfaenydd Gŵyl Jazz Ryngwladol Abertawe yn 2014.
