Join us every Monday from 6–8pm, starting 21 September, in the bar at Volcano Theatre for our free Chess Club

All skill levels are welcome. Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned player. Come along, meet fellow chess enthusiasts and enjoy a friendly game.

Please download the free Lichess app on your smartphone before attending. We’ll be using its free chess clock facility during the sessions.

✨🎥🍿 Psychogeography Film Night 🍿🎥✨

The 5th World Congress of Psychogeography (5WCoP), the largest annual Congress exploring the perceptions and emotion of place, is coming Swansea to Volcano Theatre on Friday, September 18th to bring you a selection of psychogeographical films for their film night. This year's theme for the Congress is Uncharted Territory.

Join us for programme of short films, sonic lectures, and documentaries exploring the emotional landscapes of place and the ways in which wandering through landscapes,streets, and forgotten spaces can transform the way we feel, think, and relate to the world around us. To finish off the film night, Nightingale & Sage will host an evening of Psychogeography Karaoke in the bar of Volcano Theatre. Films start at 6:30pm with intermissions.

We’re kicking things off with a special evening of spoken word, bringing together powerful voices, honest stories, poetry, and performances that deserve to be heard.

Whether you’re stepping up to the mic or showing up to support, Open Stage is a space for expression, connection, and creativity in all its forms.
Think of Open stage as an Open mic night but for any type of performance.

📖 Join the next chapter!

🎉 Storyopolis Returns 12th September 2026.

Storyopolis is a creative literacy programme aimed to help children explore their imagination through storytelling and reading, as well as coming together with others to make new friends.

Saturday mornings term-time, from 10:30am-12:30am.

🧑‍🏫 Join us for creative activities with our team of artists and educators.

📚 This term we will be looking at new ways to create stories through theatre:

• Costume.
• Set design.
• Script writing.
• Character development.
• Theatre games.
• Scene work.

🎭 This will all lead to a final performance in December!

🎟️ As ever, this is funded by the national lottery, so there is no fee for attending the sessions.
