They are now available for hire! A Little Bit About Dean Verbeeck:
Deans interest in the Entertainment Industry started at the young age of 13, when he would enjoy entertaining family and friends with magic tricks and impersonations of familiar celebrities of the time. His interest developed from there into acting and shortly after he would land a ‘Fairy Liquid’ television commercial alongside Nanette Newman. Following this Dean found a love for Musical Theatre and decided to study performing arts at Gorseinon College in Swansea. Upon completion of the course Dean moved to London to continue his training further at Rose Bruford Drama College and The Royal Academy Of Music. In the middle of all this Dean discovered his passion for Pantomime. In 1994, he was cast as the title role in ‘Jack And The Beanstalk’ with the Friendship Theatre Group in South Wales. Dean remained with the company for a further two years playing the roles of Dick Whittington and Prince Charming in ‘Cinderella’. It was from here his love for Pantomime flourished. Dean spent a decade working as a professional actor before returning to the company in 2008, not as an actor this time but as their director. He continues to work for ‘The Friendship Theatre Group’ and to date has directed 13 Pantomime for the Company. When the company celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2018 Dean returned to the stage as an Ugly Sister and the production played to over nine thousand people during its run. ‘The Friendship Theatre Group’ Pantomimes under the direction of Dean are award winning and continue to draw in packed audiences year after year. In addition to working with ‘The Friendship Theatre Group’ Dean also works alongside The Performance Factory Stage School and he is currently writing a 2022 Summer Pantomime for them. Dean has also worked with professional theatre company ‘Its An Act’ for the past four years as a director and co/producer along side the company director Jack Llewellyn. In 2019 he joined the cast on stage as Dame Dolly Dumpling and will be making a return both on stage and off in 2021. With over twenty-five years pantomime experience under his belt Dean decided to put pen to paper and write his own pantomimes. His pantomime scripts are modern but traditional and can be adapted for any group or company making it truly original experience. Dean has worked with comedy actor Sean Davies for over a decade and he has this to say about Dean’s pantomime scripts:
“I can honestly say that the script recently provided to our pantomime company by Dean Verbeeck was the best to date. Hilariously funny and very current, with gags that were relatable to all audience members. The script stuck to the core/ traditional pantomime values that I believe children and adults alike, love. The mixture of those traditional pieces, with the modern elements were truly refreshing. As a comedy actor, there’s no better feeling than having the audience belly laugh at those comedy lines. Deans script give us all the tools to receive those belly laughs! Pantomime just got a whole lot more exciting! For more information please email [email protected]
