Following the demonstration of the process, we always offer individual help. This is so important, to encourage, and help our group members gain new skills. Bianca is blinking while I show her the "Sneaky preview" technique (unique to Art Workshop). Suzanne

What a busy morning we had last Friday! Group members collected dried paintings from last term, and we launched into making Ceramic Flower Frogs. When I demonstrated, there was a chorus of " Oh those are Flower Roses" and "a rose, like on a watering can". Ok, I stand corrected.

Jean and Ruth admiring a favourite painting, by Brigit Creek, at Rollington Barn, Purbeck Arts Week Festival. Next Sat we will be going to venue 12, to Moira Purver , Pip O' Neil and Sinead O' Neil. We have one space in the car, so let me know if you want to join the fun.
We apologise to Catherine Seddon, who is the artist. We are careful to credit artists appropriately, and are sorry we were wrong. Suzanne

Good morning, I present to you my very 1st hand made Flower Frog ❤️. When the clay is dry , I will paint and seal it. I might even take another photo 😊. Have a great day, despite the rain. X Suzanne Edit: I now realise that this one is upside down! I'm still learning.

We have completed our series on watercolour or acrylic landscape painting. I developed some content to deliver at the beginning of each session, for example; Composition, Layering, Use of a variety of brushes, Use of sketching, Adding texture, Seascapes and Skies, Maggi Hamblin's "Walls of Water", and the Rule of Thirds. Here, Frances is working from a photography book of the coast, and using watercolour. The vibrant painting is Ros' acrylic painting of stormy waves, with lots of texture.

In April and May we used acrylic (water based) paints, and watercolour paints, to create landscapes. Over several weeks, we looked at composition, skies, water, and texture. Discussing paintings in books, and originals from local artists, we decided what we liked ( and didn't like). Suzanne demonstrated some painting techniques, and then we had fun painting.
Dionne is enjoying a chocolate biscuit, while Bianca works with watercolours. At Art Workshop everyone, and their artwork, is valued.
