We were extremely proud to work with Diverse City on last summer's SW!M events and we're now very excited to share the new short film exploring the community, camaraderie, and vulnerability of a close-knit group of Swanage's wild swimmers as they prepare to take the plunge into performance.

Pop the kettle on, make yourself comfortable and enjoy this 15 minute documentary by acclaimed documentarian Steven Lake as he examines the cheerful bravery of these women as they make themselves vulnerable to the audience, the elements, and each other.

A big thank you to for supporting the event by providing a space to promote the event and help with managing the audio interviews between the swimmers. A special thanks goes to Michelle Langthorne and to the Flying G for a brilliant show devoted to the show last week.
Who knew Swanage had its own mermaid and dancing jelly fish! If you would like to join us swimming throughout the year, many of us meet currently at the lifeguard station in the swimming area at 8 am or DM us for more details. A warm welcome, good company and laughter are guaranteed.

The weather blessed us for the final show, and even though we had to battle a strong easterly over the preceding days, Swanage Bay provided the perfect setting for our show 'In our element'. A mass choreographed performance of different swimming women, set to beautiful songs and sea shanties. Directed by Claire Hodgson MBE, a local Swanage swimmer, an audience of over 700 people enjoyed the spectacle of over 50 local women swimmers dancing, singing and swimming! Thanks to for providing the wonderful trumpet solos throughout the evening.

It's a wrap! Wow, we cannot believe it has been nearly a week since we did the show. The vibes around town have been brilliant, and we have had lots more women join us this week to take a dip. We also have some wonderful pictures and clips of the shows which we'll share over the next few posts. Thanks once again to , and Dorset Community Fund for helping to make this happen. In addition, we have been grateful to all the local businesses and the De Moulham Trust. We are also grateful to The Mowlem for hosting us. First up are a couple of pictures from the packed Mowlem Theatre for 'In our own Words'. A play written and directed by Deborah Paige based on the interviews with Swanage swimmers. A very moving performance with poetry by Jo Tatchell and music by local musicians.

A taster of what is to come this evening. Lovely dress rehearsal with welcome drinks in The Mowlem Bar afterwards. Join us on the beach at 7pm this evening for our beach spectacular! Dancing, sea swimming and music provided by professional trumpet soloist Harry Bassett!

A great dress rehearsal tonight with lots of spectators. While we have had lots of fun dancing, singing and swimming, special thanks goes out to the beach crew who have been busy setting up the beach 'stage' and are at the ready to gather up the props as we go along......and there are plenty of props!
