Good morning

My top tips for making exercise work well for you 😊πŸ’ͺ

Pick a goal you can measure, such as 3 workouts a week or 10,000 steps a day

Do strength training regularly, because it helps build lean muscle and supports metabolism and bone health

Add cardio you enjoy, such as brisk walking, cycling, swimming, or dance fitness πŸ’ƒ

Keep workouts realistic and consistent rather than trying to do too much at once

Use short movement breaks during the day, especially if you sit a lot
Eat enough protein and overall food to support recovery and energy
Rest and recover properly, because recovery matters as much as training.

If you are a beginner ....
Per week....
2 to 4 strength sessions.
2 to 3 cardio or dance sessions.
Daily walking or light movement.
1 to 2 easier recovery days.

If its challenging, its working 😊πŸ’ͺ

Have you tried my yoga class ?

Yoga can improve flexibility, strength, balance, and stress management, and it may also help with sleep, mood, and some types of pain such as lower back pain.

Main benefits
Flexibility and mobility improve because yoga moves joints and muscles through a wider range of motion
Strength builds, especially in the core, legs, back, and shoulders, because many poses use your own body weight
Balance and coordination often get better through standing and one-legged poses .
Stress and anxiety can ease because yoga combines movement with breathing and relaxation
Sleep may improve, especially when yoga is part of a regular evening routine. I get many messages from my ladies saying how well they slept after our Yoga class πŸ˜΄πŸ™

Why it helps
Yoga works on both body and mind at the same time. The slow movements, controlled breathing, and focus on posture can calm the nervous system while also improving physical function.

Making improvements and achieving goals, requires consistency πŸ’ͺπŸ™Œ

Depending on what exercise you do and how often, on average it can take 4 to 6 weeks to notice cardio fitness and improvement in strength. It can take 12 weeks to see more visible obvious signs.
Exercise can improve physical and mental health but you need to stick at it. It really doesnt happen over night

If you are a beginner, start off slowly and build up. Dont overload yourself with exercise, its better to set yourself realistic goals. If you have been exercising for a while try to mix up your exercise styles. This a good way to keep your interest going and you may even work different parts of the body you didn't realise you had ! 😁

Last but not least, do you know how quickly you lose physical fitness if you stop exercising .......

1 to 2 weeks: endurance and cardio fitness can begin to decline.
3 to 4 weeks: strength losses may start to become more noticeable.
4 to 6 weeks: many people notice clear drops in stamina, strength, and recovery.
Don't forget also balance and coordination. .... something that is so important as we age.

4 walls, a floor and a roof.

Trainers and lycra.
Movement to music.

It's just a dance class!
Things get built here -
Stronger bodies.
Fitter bodies.
Confident bodies.
Things get broken here -
Barriers.
Silence.
Sweat.....but it's just a dance class!

Friendships are forged.
Community is created.
We rally together in the sad times.
We celebrate the good times.....but it's just a dance class!

We conquer our demons.
We relieve our stress.
We quiet the voices in our heads.
We feel at home here.....but it's just a dance class!

It's the date in our diary we never miss.
It's the time for us to be carefree.
It's the place where we can let go.
It's part of our lives.
It's not just a dance class.”
