What a Fantastic End of Summer 2026 Term Exhibition Evening! 🎨✨

It was such a special night for The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield as we celebrated the creativity and hard work of our amazing students at our end of term Art Exhibition.👏

Their fantastic artwork from our summer term was on full display and it was a joy to see it enjoyed by so many wonderful guests. The atmosphere was relaxed, welcoming, and full of admiration.

We’re over the moon to also share that together we raised £602 for our two nominated charities: Parkinson’s UK Sutton Coldfield Branch and Sutton Coldfield Guide Dogs Fundraising Group. Every raffle ticket, donation, and support made a real difference — thank you.❤️

A huge thank you to our talented students, art tutor, both charities and everyone who came along to support us. Your participation and contributions made the evening truly memorable.☺️

Highlights will include their Week 12 final acrylic project: “The Continental Escape”. Think vintage glamour, classic cars, elegant architecture, and a touch of cinematic drama 😎.

As seen, our students have worked on composition, perspective, and expressive brushwork — building depth with underdrawing, underpainting, and bold layered colour.

We’ll also be showcasing independent work created at home as seen in todays post💫

It’s been amazing to see students applying their learning with so much creativity and confidence.

Be wowed by our art students’ incredible "Colours of the World" acrylic painting project — a vibrant celebration of the beauty, diversity and spirit of people across our world. 🎨✨

From bold brushstrokes to delicate detail, each piece reflects a unique story, culture or moment captured through colour.

*Week 10: “Walkies” – Our Second Acrylic Painting Week 🐶✨*

Animals are always a favourite, and our students at The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield absolutely delivered!

Our joyful acrylics project centred around endearing dog portraits with a big touch of humour and energy. Using the "impasto technique", students built up thick, tactile paint to capture movement, personality, and expression. The result? Lively, playful dogs that almost jump out at you!

Some worked from our provided references, others brought in photos of cute dogs — and you can see every wag, splash, and cheeky grin in the artwork 💙

🌊 Week 9: Coastal Mixed Media “In The Bay” | The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield 🌊

*Week 1 of acrylics = “In The Bay”* 🌊
Mixed media, texture, coastal vibes. Our students nailed it 💙

For this project we explored seaside texture and atmosphere. 🖌️ Newspaper was used for collage, layered with gesso, acrylic and charcoal to build depth, energy and that windswept coastal feel. 🌬️

The results? Bold, expressive, and full of character 👏 Huge congrats to everyone for diving into acrylics with so much creativity! 🌟

Week 8 Final Watercolour Showcase 🌿🪴 Patio Pots in Bloom | The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield 🎨

Week 8 and our watercolour module ends on a high. ✨

For our final project, students turned to patio pots — capturing terracotta textures, leafy greens, and flowering colour with layered washes. We built depth through wet-on-dry and masking techniques to bring out shape, shadow, and detail. 🪴🌸

The outcome is a vibrant collection that shows how far everyone’s come. From confident washes to expressive colour, each piece reflects individual style and real technical growth. 👏🎉

Huge congrats to all our students for an amazing 8 weeks!

Our students captured trams and other urban scenes in watercolour + ink — the results are stunning*

We've completed our second week of watercolour at The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield and the progress is incredible.

We focused on tram scenes using subtle washes to build light, atmosphere, and depth. Then students added pen work through urban sketching to define structure and bring each city moment to life.

Our post says it all — an amazing array of work, each piece showing individual style and confident technique. 👏

🌿 Week 6: Our First Watercolour Week Update ✨

Our wonderful returners dove straight into Tuscan vineyard landscapes and joyful poppy fields bursting into bloom. 🍇🌺 Their confidence and creativity set such a warm tone for our watercolour module.

Meanwhile, our brilliant beginners embraced the foundations of watercolour with curiosity and courage—experimenting with expressive brush strokes, soft gradients and gentle washes. From bright, zesty lemons 🍋 to atmospheric misty mountains ⛰️, they brought freshness and energy to every piece.

It’s been a beautiful beginning: full of colour, calm, courage and community. We’re so proud of everyone at The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield. 💛🎨

🌞 WEEK 5 ART UPDATE – CAMELS IN CAIRO! 🐪✨

In our second week of oil pastels, our brilliant students at The Seasons Art Class Sutton Coldfield created a beautiful range of camel desert scenes. In our mixed media project, students used oil pastels and coloured pencil to blend warm sunlight tones, soft sandy hues, and peaceful sunset skies 🌅✨.

The camels all look amazing — from bold silhouettes and long shadows across rippled dunes 🏜️ to expressive head profiles and those wonderfully long necks 🐪💛.

As part of our wider tropics theme, we also enjoyed vibrant pieces featuring a majestic lion 🦁 and a striking peacock too 🦚 — full of colour, texture, and personality.

A wonderful week of creativity, confidence, and colour 🎨💫
So proud of everyone’s progress and looking forward to sharing our first week of watercolours next week. 💧🖌️💙
