Our company has been in the studio, bringing movement, performance and digital worlds together for a spectacular new production celebrating Sunderland, its people, its past and its possibilities.

It will be a beautiful way to celebrate the opening of House Sunderland and we’re very excited that we’ve been chosen to be such a key part of the celebrations.

CAST CALL-OUT: PERFORM IN HOME!

We’re looking for people from Sunderland and the surrounding area to join the cast of HOME - a major new performance marking the opening of culturehousesunderland
Created by Southpawcompany HOME will bring local people together with professional performers and digital artists to celebrate Sunderland’s people, creativity, heritage and future.

You don’t need to be a dancer or have any performance experience, everyone will be supported throughout the process.
We welcome all bodies, identities, backgrounds and experiences. You simply need to be aged 16+, open to taking part and able to attend the rehearsals and performances.

- Free to participate
- Meet and work with dance artists, digital artists & other members of your community
- Perform at the opening of Culture House

ACTION SPEAKS
Would you like to join the movement? We’re seeking new trustees!

This is an incredibly exciting time to join us - Southpaw has a long track record of creating work that connects with and authentically represents diverse, complex and vibrant communities; in the next 18 months we will be presenting work ranging from immersive experiences for audiences of 20, through to outdoor touring to festivals, and largescale, site-specific events.

These projects, and the recent addition of permanent, free-to-access engagement programmes in our studio at the Sheepfolds Stables in , are only the first step in an ambitious programme of new work across local, national and international contexts.

No experience needed - more important is a commitment to Southpaw’s ethos, time and energy!
